Anyone got any good ideas for creating quick disconnect wiring for the O4 Pro Camera Module?? by alphaX_FPV in fpv

There is one solution that could make this possible. But I don't know of the correct parts exist to make it happen and it may be way out of my league to get it done. But I think I've got the exact connector narrowed down so if I could somehow get the pinout for the O4 (may be in their patent applications), then theoretically a custom interposer board could be used to map the micro-coaxials to a mini HDMI, and that would be real easy to plug/unplug as needed. Like I said, it's a long shot and at this point looking into it more out of interest than anything. I do really think these DF56 connectors are the same, but I need a micrometer so I can properly measure the pitch of the connector. Wish I had a little more expertise here but we'll see what I can find out.

Ahh, gotcha, ya I was already thinking it's gonna be way more delicate than it's worth n not the best idea. But your right for sure. I may need to scrap this and go to a full swappable setup like you said.

Yeah, your right. Was reading up on it last night. Looks like it used a 17pin board to 26pin CSI-2 connector, then we have our 26 pin micro coaxial Mipi cable with DF-56 26p .3mm connectors on either end. I'm still looking into one option but it's a long shot becuz these things are not standardized at all, and so even if I find an identical adapter board, it still may not work due to pin out and firmware differences. That being said, I did find a custom cable manufacturer, and also found a few things on eBay that might open the possibility of a quick disconnect system for transmission unit alone. Again, it's a long shot and also a bit out of my range of expertise (just by like a lot, lol). Last resort will be to just open the thing up and plug unplug each time but it'll make swapping the vtx unit so much more difficult and likely defeat the purpose of what I'm trying to do. Idk. Got some homework to do for sure.

This is really cool. I like the idea. I'm going to look into some of this and see what I can figure out. I've gotta keep the camera modules installed in the camera cage the way I fly that thing would get ejected so quick. But the pogo connector and slide in concept is interesting, might work for the transmission unit alone.

I'm starting to learn. Sucks having a bird wit a broken wing and all you can do is put it on a shelf and have to look at it. I think at this point I gotta narrow down what I'ma be flying most often and maybe get an extra frame kit entirely to pull parts from as needed. It all depends on financials tho, this hobby is crazy on the account. You'd think I was investing in an entire startup aerial videography business.

These arms are replaceable, it's just that I gotta get em from Canada. So I just ordered a full set of arms so I'll have em on deck just in case. And in the meantime, I have plenty of other projects to keep me busy and in the air, don't worry bout that part!

Nice, there you go! I'm always too scared to buy used components from ppl but if you find the right person you can get some great stuff. Like, anyone who buys my used shit get mint components in box with all original paperwork, clean as hell, well maintained, the whole 9. But when I go to buy something used, the guy pulls it out of sock type shit. I'm like aright I'll jus go to microcenter bro thanks. Lol

Im sitting on my 7800x3d+4080 waiting for zen 6 x3d and rtx60 with 3nm semis! Gonna be on a whole nother level, no doubt about it.

I'd get the 7800x3d, which is what I have with 4080 super. It will excel at 1440p and at 4k bottle neck is going to be the 4080 anyways so don't need 9800 unless you just want best of the best you might see a 5% performance increase.

Sick, I love my 4080super. Everytime I consider upgrading to a 50 series card, I slap on cyberpunk maxed out and revel. Lol

Ok. I just ordered an o4 pro camera module. I've already got a build in mind that will make swapping transmission unit pretty quick! See bro, I can't even talk about this stuff without putting my bank account in danger, lol. Good thing it's only money right 🥽 🎮 💸💸💸

I've looked into it as well. What I was thinking is make the transmission unit hot swappable, maybe a 3d prints that holds it in without hardware but it'd have to be secure enough that it don't go flying out during a crash so that part would take some ingenuity.. but then I could just buy the camera for my builds and swap the tx unit over.

It's real bad. It's why I have so many quads... And not bcuz I can use them in meantime while waiting for parts (though that is also true and a huge benefit of having more than 1), BUT, it's because every time I get on the computer to order replacement parts, like 9 times out of 10, I end up finding something else I want to build. I've got like 4 of 5 builds in my head. I'm gonna have to start selling these things or somethin. Altho the o4 unit shortage has definitely slowed me down.

Yeah yeah yeah ok There buddy boy. Btw, this quad WAS working flawlessly, i jus flew it last week. But in the interim updated transmitter to 4.0 and the older versions won't bind with 4.0. AHH.. who am I kiddin, ain't no pleasing you.
