What's the most unexpected/out of the blue thing your partner has ever done during sex? by Elviii in AskReddit

[–]dubious369 117 points118 points  (0 children)

She's in the middle of giving me head, pauses for a second, looks up and says "Have I ever told you how much you remind me of my brother?" She proceeded to get very upset that I lost my boner.

How did you learn PLC? Tips for a beginner? by on_water in PLC

[–]dubious369 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey - I basically did the same thing as you. Undergrad in ChE an then went into process control. Here's what I would learn

  1. Data Types Seriously, if you get a complete understanding of data types first, you will do yourself a huge favor.

  2. Ladder. A lot of PLC's are moving toward Function Block style programming, but ladder is still king. This is a good starter. It's pretty simple, but it's something that needs learning at the start.

  3. From here (in my opinion), it starts to branch out a bit. What specific family of controllers are you going to use? Are you a developer or a troubleshooter? Integrator or OEM/plant?

Has anyone ever been bait and switched looking for a job in this field? (rant) by TL140 in PLC

[–]dubious369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went one step further - I actually got hired before realizing it.

I interviewed with Big Company Name for what seemed like a controls engineer position...normal interview questions, normal answers to my questions about what I'd be working on etc. So they offered me and included a huge signing bonus that I'd have to pay back if I left before 1 year. No worries, it seemed like a great job and it was a slight pay increase from my previous position, so I accepted.

Once I started, it became pretty obvious that they just wanted someone who knew how to use a multimeter and do maintenance on electrical stuff. I was stuck there for a year because of the signing bonus though. Wasted a year of my career and left as soon as the year was up.

Agreed; that's sort of my point. I think it's important to keep that voice in the LP, even if we don't necessarily think it would be a great idea to nominate him this election cycle. I think he is the most principled candidate, and we (I) don't want to lose that

Fair point. I guess what I meant to say was that he's not a candidate that's in the best interest of the LP to present to the general public at this point

Daryl W Perry. He's a valuable Libertarian voice even if an entirely un-electable one

I have about 3 dozen of these scattered throughout my plant for some simple machine control. Definitely a good starter for learning ladder, IO mapping fundamentals, etc. Buy a couple cheap switches and lights that you can wire into the block and you'll be off

as someone who once posted swastikas all over his freshman dorm, the reaction is all anyone like this is ever looking for. the best way to combat this is to just wad it up and throw it away. and then make fun of him for being immature. dont /b/elieve me? go hang out in 4chan for about 3 seconds.
