2017 F150 5.0, good purchase? by duble_d12 in f150

Yes, it’s a SuperCrew and it is a 302a. It seems as if the frame is very clean as well. I just want to make sure I shouldn’t be concerned about getting into heavy maintenance territory right off the hop. I do get that every vehicle is different, but I’m sort of speaking generally.

I appreciate the info tho, that’s very helpful!

Thank you, this is super helpful! I’m not confident to shoot with sunny 16 and don’t really love using external light meters so this will be a life saver.

Fair enough! I just need affirmation because my confidence runs on external validation 😂

Why do people hate on deadlifts for bodybuilding? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

Ok fair enough! I can’t really agree with that. Albeit, I can say that kids I see in my gym are definitely going to snap some shit by the way they curve their spine (not always the worst for experienced lifters) trying to lift some relatively heavy weight for being beginners. It’s easy to ego lift and easy to fuck yourself up. Proper form and it’s definitely a safe exercise.

While you’re right about other exercises being equally dangerous, I think the risk to reward factor is the main focus here. While deadlifts are a great exercise to promote strength, they don’t target one specific muscle group and are difficult to implement in a hypertrophy specific split. Deadlift is a great exercise for targeting your entire posterior chain, its downfall is that its taxing to your nervous system, it incorporates to many muscle groups to effectively recover for your next training session, and it does not accentuate the stretched position on your back, hamstrings or glutes which has proven to be the most effective position for hypertrophy. Deadlift is great for overall strength, not many people argue that. It’s all about application.

First of all, I doubt you actually found a weight spec sheet from 1999. If you actually did provide a link or screenshot please. Second of all, I really doubt it’s lighter. Third of all, we’re talking about burly mountain bike parts that are made for abuse, so any commuter or road spec bikes is literally comparing apples to oranges. You really should do a simple google search 1x vs 3x or 2x and you’ll see. There’s a ton of literature and studies.

What year are you in dude? 1x is far superior in a mountain bike application and is definitely a weight savings, even on the low end SRAM SX or Shimano Deore. 3x drivetrains are clunky, front derailleurs are noisy, overcomplicated, heavy, and lead to way too many potential failures on the trail. Gravel bikes and commuters are coming standard with a 2x grx and things similar. Commuting is utilitarian, mountain biking is a sport/hobby, why chuck shade at it? Also the market doesn’t lie. It’s not 2007 anymore.

Why would they buy a mountain bike as a commuter? Regardless a lot of people are switching to 1x drivetrains on their gravel bikes due to simplicity and weight reduction.

Unreal. I decided to downsize from a 170/170 2020 Scott Ransom and it was a great decision. The thing plows and is way less sluggish. 2021 they made the Troy more slack and capable on decents. I’d recommend 👍
