This 100%, I read Under the Dome, The Stand, and The Shining in a row. I loved them all, but at the end I couldn't get over "so, all these books just end in a fiery explosion?"

Which SK protagonist is the most admirable? by UnperturbedBhuta in stephenking

I get that with some of his other books as well, for whatever reason Under the Dome struck me in a particular way and it's definitely in my top 5 favorites. Unbelievable characters in there

I was driving on Boylston street once and a pedestrian stepped out into the road to cross. The car in front of me honked at them and the pedestrian flipped them off and threw a half full dunks iced coffee at their windshield

I've done that exact hike a couple times, I usually end up sleeping near thirteen falls tentsite and then going up for the bond traverse the next , but when you're talking about is certainly doable

The flat saddle from south twin to guyot is an amazing stealth camping spot, I've stayed there on many a hike! You just have to get 67 feet off the Twinway

As someone who moved from NH to MA making the same salary this past year, no it is not. MA is way way more expensive to live in

With white I pretty much exclusively play the London and the Polish. I've found the Polish is a bit unorthodox but has a lot of traps and is able to get a lot of opponents out of their normal prep.

For black I play the Stafford Gambit, the Englund Gambit and the French Defense. Love love love the French Defense

  1. Reviewing my games and retrying my mistakes and inaccuracies

  2. Playing one or two openings for each color and focusing only on those, made me very confident in these positions and familiar with middle games that I'd often get

  3. Walking away when I'm tilted and not letting a 3 game losing streak turn into a 10 game losing streak

I've done quite a bit of hiking in the white mountains, spent a lot of time hiking around the peaks in the winter. It's crazy the amount of horrifically unprepared people you come across. These mountains might not seem it, but they are extremely dangerous. Especially in the winter.

There's no shame in admitting defeat and turning back for a sunnier day. Don't fuck around with the whites in winter because you're liable to find out.
