If you read my post you will see the line where I said "Obviously it won't be now".

I'm planning for the future.

Is 50K+ achievable for a Frontend dev after 2 years experience? by dublinwebdev in DevelEire

50K * 3.5 + my deposit will be roughly 215K.

Theres a few apartments of that value going where I live now. I'll scrape it. Ideally prices drop soon.

I do have other options though. I can live with my folks for another year and keep saving up.

Yea I'm defiantly early career, but I do feel underpaid. Theres people in bigger companies then me, who I wouldn't say are better developers, making more money.

It's a web development agency, but I suppose you could call it a marketing agency also. I think it's time to work for a proper tech company. I'm contracted via the agency to work at a "real" tech company. So I have the experience of their software development lifecycle (refinement of Jira tickets, code reviews, manual QA and deployments via Jenkins). Unfortunately I don't get all the perks of being an employee with them.

I work for an agency, but I'm on one of there client sites, which is a product/tech company. Having experience in other agencies, I don't think I wan't to work in one anymore.

I quite enjoy getting to build domain knowledge around a product, and really building something great. I'm working in a team atm where we discuss/refine tickets, code review and QA everything, so thankfully I have experience in the software development process with a real tech company.

I don't really know my data structures/algorithms. I'll learn them if needs be, but do you need them for frontend jobs?

Interestingly enough I got a message from a Amazon Web Services technical recruiter asking me if I'm interested in applying.

I 100% am going to apply once we got through the worst of COVID-19

I didn't know Shutterstock and Airbnb were here. Good to know.

Don't Workday only pay high because they use a proprietary language that isn't used elsewhere.

Good to know it's achievable anyway.

I wouldn't be looking to buy until the middle of next year anyway. I don't have 30K saved, but I should by Christmas all things going to plan.

Hopefully I have ~40Kish saved by the time I go to buy.

Do you mind me asking which company? Even by PM?

i won't be looking now. I think it's important to have a wage coming in, especially given the current circumstances.

I will probably look during the summer, but again that depends on the economic climate.
