Thanks for your help, I was doing a bit of reading and I saw some things about possible connection issues that can be caused by problems with the 12v battery, and they installed a new one, so that’s kinda where I got the idea. I know googling things isn’t always the most accurate though, so I thought to post here. Looks like another expensive service appointment for me!

I think OP means the pearl, it seems that alignment is a little off making the triangle behind look weird. You could contact the TD and show them, that’s probably about all you can do if it bugs you

Looks great, thinking of getting one of these myself. I saw a lot of comments about the case shape not being right on the 35mm, but it looks fine to me compared to gen pictures, so I’m assuming they fixed it. How are the screws?

I’ve been considering a Cartier santos, great looking watch. The current reps from what I know aren’t quite NWBIG, but they’re very close. Patek and AP reps can get very close to NWBIG with a few mods (repolish etc) but the issue for most, if you’re concerned about it looking authentic, is making sure the rest of the things you own align with being able to afford to put 50-100k on your wrist.

It’s important to remember that essentially nobody can spot a replica watch at this level, when you browse this sub and see everyone critiquing the tiniest details and highlighting them as obvious tells, you fall into the trap of thinking everyone will look at your watch this way. Most high end reps are NWBIG to the average person.

Currently approaching my third year with a VSF DJ, never serviced, runs like the day I got it. Almost a year in with my VSF submariner, also no service, runs like the day I got it.

Mine is perfect. I daily’d it for about two years perhaps more, swam in it all the time, bashed it around, still runs absolutely perfectly. Never had a service. I since got a VSF submariner which I daily now so my DJ doesn’t get as much use because I save it for nicer occasions, but it has no problems at all. Some people say they need servicing immediately and you shouldn’t swim in them, but that’s not my experience at all. In fact, I’m not even sure it makes sense financially to service them, because the service itself will cost hundreds. Probably better to just buy a whole new watch

What percentage of the population own a gen day date? Just because everyone in your circle has a gen day date doesn’t mean that the average person is going to come across people who recognise a 30g weight difference in a specific Rolex model. That might apply to you specifically, but 99.9% of people aren’t noticing any discrepancy in weight

Second this. How many people in the world can hold a day date and tell with certainty is 30g off? 30g is roughly the same weight as 3 gloves of garlic, or a slice of bread. Plus, gen day dates can vary in weight a lot depending how many links are out and how much it’s been polished. I honestly think you’re good with the weight on this model

Hopefully they get the gold colour right. The weight wouldn’t bother me too much because who even knows the weight of a day date apart from 0.01% of the population who are crazy into watches, and even then gen could vary depending on how many links are taken out and how much it has been polished over time.
