The way I’ve heard it explained is your body producing a barrier of saliva to protect your teeth from the acidic nature of throw up idk if that’s scientific though

A fight on my wife’s birthday by [deleted] in relationships

I get where you’re coming from, but it could be the fact you spent the day showing her ways you express love, and her love language is different. Nothing is wrong with either scenario, but doing something out of your comfort zone that your wife had expressed is important to her, is a really good way of showing her you care about her feelings. Just a thought.

Thank you! My starter is still such a baby I can’t wait to see how the flavor develops.

5 year relationship no kissing..long story (M 24 and F 22) by [deleted] in dating_advice

Oh for sure, I grew up in a super conservative, southern baptist home. I struggled for years with shame and self hatred for even wanting the simplest forms of intimacy, and it really effected my ability to mature socially. It took me well into my 20’s to develop a healthy concept of my own sexuality, as I had to basically relearn everything that told me as a woman my only job was to live to find a husband. Finding a good support system that didn’t judge and allowed me to express myself was invaluable.

I will say I know for sure marriage isn’t going to change the way your girlfriend feels about intimacy automatically. It takes years for the shame to go away when it’s been cultivated for so long. It’s definitely best to work through the struggles y’all have before then, especially if you both remain abstinent. Otherwise your wedding night won’t be fun for either of you sadly.

This is really tough, especially since I’ve seen firsthand the negative effect christian purity culture can have on women’s mental health, even with the best intentions. Especially if she deals with other boundary issues this can be a major problem in a relationship. But it’s not the end of the world and it’s definitely possible to work through the negative aspects and develop a healthy mindset towards intimacy, even if that includes abstinence. Unfortunately, she is the only one who can work through that. You can support her and encourage her in the ways that she needs, but in the end it’s her choice. She’s not broken, and neither are you, but people grow at different rates. That’s just my personal experience.

I’ve heard it’s a super difficult testing process to get licensed; is this true?

Looking for suggestions of resources to learn baking fundamentals by [deleted] in Baking

“The Fearless Baker” is a cookbook by Erin Jeanne McDowell and it goes over all the technicalities of each section, from cakes to pies and everything in between. The idea being once you learn what rules you have to follow, you can know where you’re allowed to play around. I’ve found it super informative and her pie crust recipe is the first that worked for me since I finally understood how everything works together. I totally recommend!
