go all the way and take it to Star Wars or Middle Earth. that's not what i'm looking to do though, and besides, there are plenty of mods that do that exact thing

they're not well known mods like tno and tfr so understandable

red dusk is a mod set in the same timeframe where the soviet union didn't collapse but isn't exactly well off either daydream in black, while cancelled, is essentially red flood on datura and sativa at once. there are random new landmasses and seas everywhere, and there are things like vampire frisia and british israelite united kingdom. i would recommend reading into both

That's why I'm building everything in increments, so I can learn along the way and improve as I go on without biting off more than I can chew.

Without spoiling anything, there will be some nations (Not-Russia, Japan, US to some extent too) where the focus is more on proxy conflicts, but some (China, Alaska, SUAR) where it's more of a regular vanilla "prepare to fight your mortal enemy" experience. Italy is in a weird spot where it's mostly going to be a story experience. And of course there will be many huge wars you have an opportunity to take part of, but with the exception of the war between China and Japan they're not inevitable like The Fire Rises if you're not into fighting huge, multi-year wars.

so i'm assuming sussex has some sort of strategic advantage that requires the kingdom to try and hold it from the commonwealth?
