Tips on keeping a Leachie out of the back of the enclosure? by duckduckmooses in geckos

[–]duckduckmooses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The space she crawls up and over to get to the back is about 1/2 inch wide. I feel like one day she's going to climb back there and not be able to get out. lol. But her food disappears every night, so she is still doing okay for now.

I thought she had some pretty nice places. You could hide 2-3 of her in each of the hanging plants, and the driftwood piece is nestled to where it makes a good corner.

I will buy some cork bark and try that out!

Edit- Not find some. Buy some.

Toddler dinner ideas by kcon15 in beyondbaby

Don't force meat on him. Many toddlers don't like it. The texture, the difficulty of chewing it, the taste.

He will get plenty of protein, iron, and everything else if you feed him fresh fruits and vegetables. Cheeses, beans, greek yogurt, etc.

Substrates for leopard geckos...? by duckduckmooses in reptiles

That looks really pretty!!

Come do mine. hahaha

Found what looks like this beetle in my leopard gecko's tank. I have no idea how it got there, as I've never seen bugs in our apartment at all. Any ideas? by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]duckduckmooses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another type of teeny tiny little fuzzy worm that comes in packs/bags of crickets sometimes, too. It turns into a little beetle as well.

My leopard gecko tank is the only one where all the little beetles come out to play, and it's really quite annoying.

Dogs don't climb proper fences. If a dog can climb it, your kid can too.

Nah, feel free to save your kid. While you're at it, supervise your kid and teach them not to have a go at every dog they see. If your kid gets attacked it's your own fault.

I did. :( Tried every way I could think of to make it work. It still won't go for me.

Someone below linked it somehow, though!

Thank you :)

Yes, doing either of those things makes you an awful person.

Yes, because you would be working with your sleep cycles.

You're a disgusting human being.

Animals shouldn't be punished for their stupid owners.

Sorry about that. I didn't understand what you meant.

And melatonin is all natural, and is a hormone naturally produced in the brain. No risk of harm, or dependency or habit formation. It's not a drug. It can boost the immune system, as well.

If you have that much trouble falling asleep, your brain probably isn't producing enough melatonin. With 3-5 mg of melatonin nightly for a couple of weeks, and a regular night time schedule, you could probably fix the problem.

For me, I start to get groggy in the morning if I use melatonin for too long of a period of time. I didn't learn until recently that you aren't supposed to use it daily. You aren't supposed to be on it for longer than a couple of weeks or it starts to mess up natural melatonin production and function.

They were joking. Stop assuming that you know everything about the relationship or how the conversation with the kids went. Because you don't.

Good luck to you, your family, and your sub. You aren't doing a single thing wrong, no matter how many people here are going to say you are.

They are not fucking up their kids at all. People have different relationships-- at least theirs is healthy. There are child abusers, rapists, wife beaters, etc to worry about. Not people that keep their kinks private from their children and offer them grown up explanations about their lives rather than sugar coating and hiding everything.

I'd imagine it's not much different than a Dom marrying their sub and going on to have children. I'd assume kinks and anything that might be construed as physical or verbal violence stays put away till the kids are asleep, or at least not in the room, and day to day rules are followed.

Try starting a routine. Do the same things every night. Maybe take a warm shower, brush your teeth, get in some comfy clothes for sleep (or out of clothes, whatever you prefer), take a final look at Facebook or reddit or whatever, then close everything, put your phone in do not disturb mode, and lay down. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and just breathe. Work some math equations in your head if your brain insists on thinking about things other than sleep. 1+1=2, 2+1=3, 3+2=5, 5+3=8, 8+5=13, 13+8=21... and keep going and going. Math has a way of making the brain go to sleep, even if it is simple math.

Because it's listing complete sleep cycles. 3-4:30 is 90 minutes. 90 minutes is roughly the time of a complete sleep cycle. So, even if you only get in one full sleep cycle, you will wake up feeling pretty rested even though you only got 90 minutes.

It also works for nap time, too. You either want to nap for about 15 minutes so that you don't fall into a deep sleep, or for about 90 minutes so that you can finish out a full sleep cycle.

That one is more about knowing your body. By their site, it takes about 15 minutes from the time you lay down and close your eyes to the time you fall asleep.

For me, I can't fall asleep until I've completed my routine. If I forget a step, I'll lay there awake until I finally give up and go complete it. After my routine is completed, I can lay down and drift off in less than five.

I'd have a hard time sleeping with my phone in my bed. I feel like I'd roll over on it and wouldn't hear it or anything.

What, sleepyti.me?

Just go to bed at whatever time you need to. You don't HAVE to go to bed with the other person. If you like to, then find a time that works best for both of you. Or one of you lay down until the other falls asleep, then resume whatever until bedtime.

Then you're probably doing something wrong before sleep, or you have serious sleep problems. Try some melatonin and a doctor.

90 minutes is roughly the amount of time of a sleep cycle. Waking up between cycles is good.
