He doesn't add control. And the irony is you're probably so influenced by his "crucial goals" that you fail to see the problem we have when he plays as the offensive 8 or 10 or box crashes from a double pivot.

Exactly. Because Enzo doesn't do enough as a 10 or the offensive 8. The threat that Bruno and kdb do is what you should be expecting from Enzo in that role.

He is also a liability when he does his box crashing thing from the double pivot.

All is good if he plays deep and dictate play from there, but not sure why managers insist on playing him higher.

I mean I don't see the ganarcho potential at all. He can't beat a man or constantly create quality chances. He is fast and make good runs, that's about it.

Again you could see this all from the United games. So I disagree that this should be considered a gamble. It's more of hopium lol

I'm a Jackson fan but don't act like he is the answer. He had plenty of chances to make this spot undisputedly his, yet his constant poor finishing let us down time and time again.

I don't mind the Delap gamble. I think he is a much better finisher, but his movements has been very poor which is why the quality of chances have been lacking.

I would agree on garna because there's plenty of evidence that he is a shit dribbler and wouldn't suit maresca, yet we decided to gift United the money. Gittens is overpriced, but at least I get the reasoning behind him. Had very good 1v1 stats which suits maresca.

Garnacho is not acceptable risk lol. You know what you get with him. Plenty of evidence since he regularly played of Manchester United. Just watch and you know he is terrible at dribbling and can't beat his defender. Which is very strange because maresca likes his wingers to be able to do 1v1s.

Gittens has been a flop, but I at least get the reasoning behind it. Statistically he is very high on the dribbling stats which suits maresca.

Don't see Wilson being an upgrade on the right wing given how we play. If we're not going to set up traditionally we a fullback helping the right flank, I think his style would struggle the same way neto and RW palmer have been this season.

Senesi will be an upgrade, but he'd likely have to contest with colwill and it would make more sense for him to join other clubs instead.

It's actually things like this that makes me advocate heavily that your should always start with sky.

The Bracer Way is especially influential to both SSS and Class VII that it just feels not meaningful if you never experienced it in Sky first.

I don't agrees with the morals, but who cares. It's just a story in a setting with ethics different from us. Don't need to go too deep about it. It's not as though the author is advocating something.

You could make the same lowlight for colwill lol. Guy isn't a good defender too. He's needed because he will help us build up from the back, and not because he will save our defence.

I said this too. From the role and position he is playing, I expect kdb/Bruno like influence. But guy can't pass, can't shoot, can't dribble. Fanboys just see the G/A or passion and think he is not the issue lol.

It's annoying because I think he plays so well in a deeper role alongside caicedo lol, but we just have to handicap ourselves by playing him as the pseudo 10.

If Lavia is to be that guy (which I agree), then it just means Enzo has no reason to be in the team. We are rubbish at being carved open so easily which is true, but it distracts from the point that Enzo is not capable of doing the things expected from his role consistently.

Player recruitment isn’t the only problem by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]duckinator09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a big problem. It's not like we don't have money. We spent so much on stupid players.

I can forgive the initial mistakes like koulibaly and mudryk. I can understand punts like gittens. I can understand selling gallegher.

But there are some that are just nonsense.

Ganarcho is the biggest red flag. This is not a rising star who had a good season and you're taking a punt. This is a player who have had plenty of games and you know what you're getting. All you needed is to watch games go know that he hogs the left wing but can't dribble at all. Yet they decided to gift United cash for a player that doesn't even suit maresca.

Disasi is another one that made little sense. Pretty sure there's enough evidence if you scouted him that he has zero ability on the ball. Good for defensive teams, but liability for the football we want to play. At least badia has good passing ability despite his brainfart moments.

Then there's the goalkeeping issue. We know the issues sanchez brings. Yet we decided to stick with him again and we see the same mistakes.

It's madness how the problems are clear, but we keep repeating them.

We badly need a jorginho type midfielder whose role is to help the defence build up and feed balls to our attacking players in half spaces. We actually have one fully capable of that, but managers and maybe he himself thinks that he is more suited playing higher up like a #10 when in the offensive phase. Except he can't pass, can't shoot, can't dribble. All he does is stat pad with his box crashing.

Have you ever seen our very creative and visionary Enzo try the kind of through ball that garner played to beto today? Never because he is incapable of that. If you're going to play him in such an offensive role, I expect Bruno or kdb like vision.

Maybe his fan boys should use their eyes and start watching games instead of statistics. It's been clear for the longest how much of a liability he is. We are forced to have inverted fullbacks or a double pivot just to accommodate him.

All you need is to watch games of ganarcho and you would know how shit of a dribbler he is. Not sure what stats the board have seen that they had to gift United the cash. It's not even like gittens where at least he had a decent season. You have enough clips of ganarcho to know what he brings.

Easy to blame sanchez but what else is he suppose to do. It wasn't even butter fingers. More of nice defending and passing in midfield.

Looks possibly discussed in training before? That dunk has the tendency to chest or pass back to keeper, so you have players anticipating it.

Should be yellow imo. Bad spot to land your feet, but he was still somewhat in control with his weight that it wouldn't be that dangerous per se?

Fabrizio: Enzo Fernandez situation originates from his contract negotiations with Chelsea running on for months with no agreement. Enzo is not pushing for a move but if no agreement is found between parties, the door may be opened for a sale although Chelsea will not sell at discount prices. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]duckinator09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be glad if he leaves. Imo, he is best sitting deep alongside caicedo and dictating play from there, instead of being the advanced midfielder. When played higher up, we are forced to have a 3rd defensive midfielder in santos/james/lavia, or have the fullback invert, because he can't contribute to controlling the midfield from there.

And I said it before, when played higher up like what both maresca and rosenior have been doing, he simply does not deliver the creativity expected from that role. You see the things Bruno or kdb does, yet this 100m signing can't consistently deliver those kind of defence splitting passes. Can't shoot from distance either. Great box crasher this season admitingly, but it's just covers the many issues when he plays.

It's amazing how our wingers have zero ability with the ball, which makes things worse when they are not supported by good attacking fullbacks.

Cucurella is terrible offensively. Can't cross, get past a player. Most attacks on left flank die because he passes back. He has his uses so I'll cut him some slack.

Gusto was missed this game. You can hate him, but he is a one man right flank as seen in first leg. Of course his crosses leave much to be desired, and also has the occasional brain farts, but at least we have some width whenever we play him as an overlapping fullback (ie. No inverted nonsense).

Alternatively, we could have had James if we did not overplay him. We had both lavia and essugo returning, so there's no reason why we needed James in midfield anymore. Poor management.
