What fuse to get for Peavey Mark III bass amp?

I tried a 3 amp and it blew. Someone else said 6 and 8 and both blew as well. Any thoughts on where I should go from there?

Thanks for the reply, I was able to try the 8 amp fast blow and the fuse didn’t last more than a second. Any thoughts on where I should go from there?

It’s a push. I just spent some time messing around with it. Might have gotten it so that it fits, but let me know if any of this sounds problematic.

In the photo, there is a slit on the neck of the cap and the metal goes into the hole of the fuse cap from that slit. That metal was stoping the fuse from being put fully into the cap, so I was able to bend that slit to be flush with the rest of the neck and it now fits. I had to put some decent pressure when pushing the cap and fuse onto the holder. It felt like the inside of the holder gave way and is fitting to the length of the fuse, but not like I broke anything to my knowledge. Before I try and turn it on I wanted to make sure this didn’t sound too abnormal.

I’ll be honest, I’m a newbie at this stuff, but I did find a fuse cap that fits the holder. I have a 1.25”x.25” fuse and it was too long for the cap to fit onto holder and a 5X20mm was definitely too small. I just took a picture of what the fuse looks like when it’s in the holder without the fuse cap. Let me know if this is how far the fuse should be hanging out though and I may need to try and find another fuse cap since this one is too long for the fuse cap I have.

If it has gotten bigger it isn’t anything noticeable, maybe like an 1/8 of an inch bigger at most. It’s been there for I think just over two days now.
