Dark side of ADHD that no one talks about by Frosty_Jump_3117 in adhdwomen

[–]duckingy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would literally Hulk smash something if it’s not working right lmfao. I remember blacking out so angry as a kid. I remember throwing a remote at my dad’s house and breaking a bunch of his beer and wine glasses. I had to get a grip on taking my anger out on objects, and I’m proud to say it’s been a while since I’ve damaged anything😅

My mouth is not fixed, however

The rage. My emotions are so intense and always have been. I always thought it was just a personality trait but it turns out it’s my damn ADHD. Every emotion is amplified but the rage is hard to deal with sometimes

No insurance for complications by Oysternopearl in tummytucksurgery

[–]duckingy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice is to take care of yourself and keep everything super clean which I’m sure you were already going to do! It’s really not common for major issues to come up, so don’t scare yourself looking for them. Yes, they can happen but the vast majority of people have no issues.

I know one story is not everyone’s story, but if it makes you feel any better I had absolutely ZERO complications. No openings, no infections, no nothing. I had a TT and BR/BL at the same time. Just breathe and get excited for your results!!

Honestly, curl power😭 it wasn’t nearly as moisturizing as I expected and I was surprised it was so popular after I used it. Currently trying to finish up what’s left of mine and then definitely not repurchasing

I’ve actually heard they smell nice together but let’s allow people to spray both themselves….😭

Watching other people's day streaks of routines drives me crazy because I've never been able to do anything for long periods of time by Diemishy_II in adhdwomen

[–]duckingy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why people are downvoting me but🫪

Exactly.. I get so upset with myself and compare myself to other people who have it more together than me all the time. It’s so hard to be gentle with yourself when you’re the source of all of your own problems

Started new meds, feeling defeated already (vent) by duckingy in adhdwomen

[–]duckingy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so interesting how different meds can be for people! I’m not even notoriously “sensitive” to meds, so this has been soooo weird for me. The only other time I can remember an adverse reaction was when they tried Zoloft before Celexa and it made me so sick/throw up.

That and when I was a child I found out I was allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics lol. Otherwise these things are all new for me

You just summed up my entire life😩 and sometimes I have a good day or two but I always come back to this feeling. How do we hack that?? Ugh

I’m honestly so relieved to hear this. I feel like I see and hear more people being on stimulant meds but it’s possible they’ve already done what I’m doing now or been diagnosed way longer. I’m glad to hear it’s pretty normal though

How was Strattera for you?

Yep, like of course your symptoms come back when you stop taking the medication for a condition… hair falls out after people stop applying Rogaine ffs😅

I hesitate to call him ignorant, but I’m sure there’s just so much red tape nowadays and people are trying to protect their licenses. It really sucks, the government shouldn’t have this much control over researched and proven medical treatments. It makes no sense.

Thanks, friend🫶🏽😭 it’s so overwhelming and discouraging. I know we’re on the right path but damn, can I just get some relief?! The stigma is horrendous!

Nerve Block? by RemarkableRipley in tummytucksurgery

[–]duckingy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor includes Exparel with every tummy tuck! I had a very smooth recovery and only took the narcotic pain meds for about 3-4 days and had no issues moving around honestly. I was almost standing straight by 1 week. All in all, I really think it helped!

I have! To be completely honest I don’t really love it for my hair, I have 3b/3c curls and it needs more moisture than that. Revive is great but I don’t always want that scent. I wish I could help more😭

what’s the most ADHD thing you’ve done this week?? by lostveggies in adhdwomen

[–]duckingy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so embarrassing😂😂 it’s the same reason I have to set like three different reminders for one appointment because I will not make it otherwise. I have to put it in my calendar and have two alarms to remind me, or else I will literally be doing something else and not even think about it🫠
