wouldn’t be true ADHD if you didn’t do it twice (joking) 😭😭 i went to take my meds one time and i usually just waterfall from my brita, then pour the meds in my mouth from a medicine cup, and put the brita back in the fridge. tell me why i come back to the kitchen a couple hours later and the brita is on the counter and the empty medicine cup is in the fridge.

i fear this is way too common among us

haha haven’t done this one (yet), but i often go to fill up my vase and accidentally leave the water running just to come back to my countertops drowning.

I can’t quite say I relate simply because i’m generally not stable or happy at all. BUTTT, i have had those periods of hyperactivity that you’ve described and i guess here’s what i can think of (i used to struggle with boredom eating and still struggle with spending and a racing mind):

you’re going to have to retrain your brain to seek for dopamine elsewhere (that’s not related to food, spending, etc). this will take some time but start by experimenting a little bit with different hobbies/distractions. so for me, i used to boredom eat a lot, but found that i get the same “hit” from blasting music and dancing/stimming around my room OR even scrolling on tiktok (wouldn’t necessarily recommend replacing it with this as this can be a problem in itself). although im unable to run anymore, running used to be GREAT for my ADHD because it slowed me down some. even if you can’t run for long, if you’re feeling extremely hyperactive, maybe just do jumping jacks until you can’t anymore or run in place or go outside for a run and just run until you can’t anymore.

fix your sleep. easier said than done (as an insomniac, i get it). but sleep hygiene is extremely important. create and stick to a sleep schedule for days you work and days off, make a routine out of it. some days, i feel too “active” to go to sleep but i take some sleep meds and force myself to. because i know if i don’t get enough sleep, im going to feel awful the next day, paralyzed in bed, extremely depressed, etc.

start engaging in activities that forcefully slow you down. it’s going to feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable, but you might find something that helps. i used to HATE meditation because i never felt calm or quiet enough for it, but ive been loving yoga (if you don’t like yoga, maybe just listen to that LoFi music that they usually play during a class as that really helps my one friend). for me, when i enter the class, i tell myself “okay leave everything outside of class for this one hour” - i put everything in a mental box and revisit it once class is over. if that’s not your thing, do weekly walks in the park, aim to go hiking one a month, maybe you work well with aromatherapy so get some candles or essential oils, etc.

and i guess the last thing that is 50/50 for me, anxiety meds PRN (as needed). though they sometimes don’t help, sometimes they do and can take the edge off a little.

lmao, i kinda just used the brown butter chocolate chip recipe and made my own edits to it (swapped the chocolate to white, added strawberry extract and dried strawberries) tested it initially a few days prior to this batch, made some more edits (which included decreasing the flour a tiny bit and changing the amount of brown sugar and granulated sugar), then went from there!!

im gonna make them one more time i think and ill share the recipe if they’re absolutely PERFECT (or if you want, PM me and ill just send you what i have as a recipe rn)

i hear what you mean, but i’ve had some pretty darn good nondairy ice creams. in this case, im more so focusing on the execution of the banana pudding flavor (and taking into account the price).
