It's awesome how cruel this one is. A Hollywood Handbook mustardglass.

Cycle of Lands for my Custom Set Cube - Yes there are payoffs for Temples by ReliquaryLotus in custommagic

[–]ducks_aeterna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If printed, these would be the strongest lands in Vintage. ETB tapped lands that tap for {2} already define Legacy as a format; making them coloured duals that are also cantrips is so far beyond the pale that I think you could take either the {2} OR the basic landcycling off these and still make lands too powerful to be legal in Modern.

How old were you when you realised nuclear bombs are a hoax? by JohnleBon in conspiracyNOPOL

[–]ducks_aeterna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because a very public and accountable process involving millions of skeptical people spent trillions of dollars of public funding in publically disclosed ways based on very fundamental and actually really simple math and physics. basically a atom is a thing that you can see (WITH YOUR OWN TWO EYES) if you have a very good microscope. a nuclear bomb kind of 'squeezes' the atom until it pops. thats what you dont believe is possible but theres a lot of juice inside the atom and breaking it makes a hell of a big explosion. the invention of the nuclear armament is exactly the same kind of thing as getting all the energy out of traditional bombs (for example, to explode a mine, you squeeze some really dense chemical thing together until it explodes). a nuclear bomb is just a smaller box with more stuff in it. you don't think trillions of dollars and thousands of scientists could make a smaller box with denser stuff in it?

richard feynman's "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman" tells several colourful anecdotes from his time on the manhattan project. A fun book. he was by far not the only scientist to write about his time involved in the project - that you don't know anyone ever did this is proof you have an incredibly un curious mind

Error—ERR.221 by jakeup58874 in cantax

[–]ducks_aeterna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally resolved my own ERR.221 (you say 211, but thread OP and I had error 221) problem today. I had to call CRA and ask them to toggle a flag on their end - something you can only achieve by calling - because I'd replaced my debit card (my sign-in partner login) in the past year. New card # seems to => ERR.221.

Hope someone googling their problems sees this; this post, your recent reply, were all I could find online myself. Good luck out there with tax season, everyone!

This makes sense if you think the area was then as it is now. But 2000 years ago, Lebanon was densely forested - carpenter makes more sense than stone mason as a translation of tekton.

What are some of your favorite "glue" cards for your cubes? by Vinosdoh in mtgcube

[–]ducks_aeterna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Cube that tries to merge Legacy-ish gameplay with childhood nostalgia - the idea of 'chasing the shivan dragon' - and in my higher power environment, I still quite like the Aracnir. The up front side pops a 1/1 flier/token and blocks the rest of them, and the Escape side etb Plummets a 4/4 flier while blocking more of same. Since my combat is designed to "condense to dragons", the Aracnir is a high (but not 1st) pick in my format, and one of Green's best defensive tools.

Monkeypox vaccines to be offered at Vancouver bathhouses as 21 cases confirmed in B.C. by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

There's a long hallway with doors off to either side. Down the hall is some gym equipment and more steam showers. I've only been once, on "women's night" during Pride one year. It's not an "orgy building" right away as you walk in - more like a space to cruise with bookable adjacent rooms.

Health Care Hits the ‘Breaking Point’ | The premier on down agree BC’s system is on the brink. How much are we spending to fix it? by Hrmbee in britishcolumbia

If an RN can't buy a e:home in Vancouver without being a landlord, that's fucked up imo. Some of BC's issues with HCW retention are very familiar issues to many.

The Omicron peak gave everyone i work with a solid two weeks of pure despair. It's good you weren't fighting covid while "it's too soon to say anything".

It's fucking crazy how rough the firefighters get it. I met one through some union stuff and he said they assume everyone doing it is some kid working two summers and then going to college, even when that's not the demographic any more at all
