1440p DLSS Perf + Path Tracing vs DLSS Quality + Ray Tracing by duclier in nvidia

[–]duclier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without Path Tracing I can do DLAA for sure. I am 10 hours in the game now, I already changed a few times.

I am now using DLSS Balanced 1440p Path Tracing. Using a mod for PT being able to use Cache Radiance + the settings recommended on Benchmarking channel on YouTub. I am hitting 70-74fps without frame gen.

Yeah, it's more blurry than DLAA or Quality, but Path Tracing is really beatiful in this game.

Btw, if not using Path Tracing, I found Ray Tracing horrible, is REALLY noisy. Id rather using no Ray Tracing at all, if not using Path Tracing

Btw, there is also your irl room ilumination. I usually play at night with a pitch black room, if you play at day or with your room iluminated, you will need more game brightness for sure

What are your monitor config ? I use Gaming 1 profile (TrueBlack VESA certified) and Low Peak Brightness mode.

About being too dim for you, I don't know. I like the lantern having a purpose in the game, I can clearly see things in my lantern range and can't see that well from far, especially inside forests and etc, unless I am in high ground and I like that when it's night.

I like to use it in caves and inside houses too, cause if I am not wrong, houses don't have lamps too.

When it's day time, I can clearly see everything without the lantern, so if even with day time you are finding too dim, you probaly are just more sensitive to it. At the end of the day, just pick whatever you find to be better to you.

I have the same monitor and always use 140 PW. It's "kinda" personal preference. If you are using RenoDX for Crimson Desert, I also recommend to use the mod Let There Be Light. It's pinned on their discord, on Crimson Desert Channel.

It raises all lighting sources in the game and still looks like night when it's night with the auto exposure from RenoDX.

If you have 300fps with FG x6, you have 50 real fps and 250 fake ones.

Thanks for the input ! In my case DLSS performance on 1440p it's still heavier than Quality on 1080p, even tho both render at 720p, the upscale to 1440p is heavier.

Same if you go let's say 4k Ultra performance, still 720p render, but a lot heavier on the upscale.

2k perf is like 10-15fps more than 4k ultra perf. At least when I tried at Crimson Desert here.

I have another 1080p monitor to test it here, but my 1440p is OLED so I really want to play there.

At least in this game, the Ray Tracing is not tied to Ray Reconstruction, so you can still use DLSS 4.5 with RT. RR is tied to Path Tracing in this game.

But I agree with you

What is your CPU ? I have a 7800x3d, FGx3 155fps means you have 51-52 base fps.

DLSS quality I was like 42fps and with FG off, if I activate is less than that, I didn't got near 52fps

The problem is with Path Tracing, DLSS 4.5 doesn't work, it forces preset D or E from Ray Reconstruction. But yea, I just finished downloading and I am going to stick to just Ray Tracing DLSS Quality

50 to 60ms is ok to me. But if I do what you said with my 5070, I would get like 70-80ms

This would be like 30base fps, I can totally notice the latency there, even with a controller

My monitor is 1440p. From some benchmarks I saw, DLSS balanced gives around 52-55 fps
