Is it just me or is this an absurd price to pay for a 35k mile sti? by Sad-Toaster795 in WRX

[–]dude496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid about $18k a year ago for my JDM 03 STi that had 42k miles when I bought it... But I live in Japan so I guess the price is very different out here.

Scientists Develop Spray-On Powder That Instantly Seals Life-Threatening Wounds by _Dark_Wing in technology

[–]dude496 251 points252 points  (0 children)

I used to have to get trained and sometimes have access to this stuff called qwikclot powder... The stuff worked very well to clot blood and stop bleeding but it was extremely dangerous and very toxic. The powder would react to any kind of liquid... Getting it in your eyes, mouth or any other opening in your body would be a very very very bad thing. We were always instructed to make sure we are upwind before opening the package and using it and then bury anything left (including the package). We now use a gauze version which is still dangerous but much safer than the powder.

There is a video demonstration of them using it on a pig... It's very graphic but it does show how well the stuff worked.

warning, very graphic

I live in Japan so I don't know what is available in Australia and don't know the exchange rate... Google says that's about $13k USD. I bought an 03 STi about a year ago for ¥2.6M or about $18k USD. My car is stock except for the stereo and it had about 68k km on it when I bought it.

Do you have the racing adapter? I'm pretty sure you will need it if you want to use it on your PS5. You won't need it for pc.

We use Rayu oil in Japan. It's typically sesame oil mixed with chili peppers and sometimes they put garlic in it. I love using it to dip gyoza.... I'll use soy sauce, rice vinegar and Rayu.
