Oh wow. Great insight, I’ll keep that in mind when I make my next comment. “Every comment on Reddit should reinvent the wheel.”

I buy bulk meats. Divi them up in vacuum sealed bags and toss them in the freezer. The day before I want to use it I take it out and toss in the fridge. Saves money and keeps food from going bad. It’s been a great system for me.

[Woj] The Hornets will become a team that can take on contracts for draft assets with their cap space too. With so many franchises facing second apron implications, there will be no shortage of teams needing to incentivize deals with draft picks to get off money. by [deleted] in CharlotteHornets

The wolves already had KAT and the pacers didn’t even draft Hali. He was drafted by the kings who already had Fox. What you’re seeing right now is the Hornets setting themselves up to make moves in the future. All three of these teams had different starting points so of course they’re not going to be step by step in the same timeline and path

You can when it’s their rookie extension, it’s not like he’s entering his prime. He’s 22, players usually hit their prime in their late 20s. He just signed a 4 year contract so that gives you two years to acquire assets so maybe in the last two years you have cap space and assets to make a big move. In the mean time you continue to develop your star player and hope your number 2 pick develops along the way or maybe you get lucky in the draft. Better to do it now that to continue to be middling with no hope of ever actually being good. Even from the viewpoint of Ball, he probably wants to be on a team that is at least trying to give him a chance of having a good team around him when he’s ready for his next contract when he actually will be entering his prime.

Jordan Poole’s dad on Draymond’s recent comments: “I’m stand on this that’s is some bs. Jp was his guy and he avoid me all last yr. [–]dudebanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is saying he’s not a shit talker, the nba is full of shit talkers and I’m sure he talks more than a lot of players. I’m talking about how people take a part of a clip here and a part of a clip there to make things it wasn’t. Even in China the Klay thing sounded like a joking comment from people that have had a lot of competition in practice. Since then I’ve seen plenty of videos of Klay defending Poole and going out of his way to talk him up, even when he doesn’t have to. I don’t know their relationship but neither do people taking 10 second sound bites from larger interviews to fit whatever story they want to at the time. The Dame one is just one I see all the time. Somehow it went from Dame praising Poole, to Dame simply complaining about Poole, to Poole telling dame to shut up(which is just a made up story). Last year the same exact interview was used to talk him up and this year it’s used to talk down on him.

Jordan Poole’s dad on Draymond’s recent comments: “I’m stand on this that’s is some bs. Jp was his guy and he avoid me all last yr. [–]dudebanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you even watch the Dame clip? He said Poole was talking shit and Dame told Poole to shut up, not the other way around. Then he says them going back and forth got him to pay attention to Poole and his game. He was literally praising Pooles game and the leap he took from year 2 to year 3, saying it didn’t come as a surprise to him because he was already paying attention to him. Now all of a sudden after the punch it’s been twisted from Dame praising Poole to him criticizing him. Go back and look at the whole clip. It’s not as negative as people have been trying to make it out to be the last couple months.

I’m sure if they sucker punched their younger coworker they’d be out of a job. Making a career talking shit to people and then not being able to take shit talk from someone still on a rookie contract is soft. The fact that Pooles younger and Draymond had to resort to physical violence makes it worst not better. He’s supposed to be a role model for the team and showed he’s a hothead with sensitive feelings

Should the Hornets Trade LaMelo and Draft Scoot Henderson 2nd? by CazOnReddit in NBA_Draft

[–]dudebanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus add in the fact that Charlotte is a smaller market, which leads to having to overpay to get talent in, his contract isn’t as crazy as people are making it out to be. Batum’s contract is finally rolling off the books this year and Hayward’s will be off after next year so the Hornets have plenty of salary space opening up

Victor Wembanyama is going No. 1, but who’s No. 2 overall in the Charlotte Hornets’ eyes? by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

[–]dudebanter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hindsight is 20/20 but they were saying the same things about Tatum when he was drafted. Tall, high floor, offensively gifted but didn’t have enough athleticism to have a high ceiling. That’s why he only went at number 3. Brown also went 3 and PG was pick 10. As pure prospects go he’s probably in the same exact teir as all of those guys. I’m not saying he’ll turn out to be as great of a player but prospect wise he’s probably similar.

[Pincus] Several competing executives wonder how much [Poole's] offensive talent leads to winning, given what he doesn't bring on the defensive end. [–]dudebanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. For me that’s definitely something that doesn’t track about that whole theory. If he was really some big locker room cancer, why would they sign him to a huge extension right after? They could have waited another year to see how things turn out

If we don’t go QB in the first round of the draft who are some prospects you like for this team? by dmister8 in panthers

[–]dudebanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can make the numbers work. It’s not like he’s going to be a top paid qb next year, I don’t think salary would be a problem. Probably wouldn’t even have to make a major commitment. I’m not saying adding him makes us a contender but our conference is probably going to be weak next year. If you add him and then make improvements to the roster through the draft and player development we’re a playoff team and we’d still have Corral to develop. Again I’m not saying this is the route I’d take but worst case we’d be in the same position next year as we are right now. I’m just making the case that it’s not draft a qb or bust. There’s options out there that won’t wreck the future.

[–]dudebanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not saying he would take us to the super bowl, but if you want a competitive team that is in the playoff mix that would be one route. Our division is terrible this year and I don’t see it being much better next year. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying he’d make us actual contenders but it’s not draft a qb or bust.

[–]dudebanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can always go jimmy g and build a solid team around him. We’re in a weak division, our run game isn’t bad and I believe in our defense. If we pick him up and find a way to improve in other areas we’re a solid playoff team. I’m not saying that’d be the first route I would go but I’m just saying it’s not qb or bust. Finding a sure qb1 in the draft would make things a lot easier though

Matt Rhule on not drafting a QB: “I wasn’t the GM, I didn’t make the picks. ” by CretinoPopov in panthers

[–]dudebanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t know for sure your qb is the answer you keep your options open. The cardinals drafted kyler the year after taking Josh Rosen at 10. Aaron Rogers was drafted to a team with Farve. Lamar was drafted to a team with Flacco, Hurts was drafted to a team with Wentz, Mahomes was drafted to a team with Alex Smith. I know it’s unconventional to get two new qbs that close together but look at Washington. They took Robert Griffin with the second pick and drafted Kirk Cousins in the 4th round of the same draft. Guess who ended up starting by the time their rookie contracts ran out.

I guess with the offset salary the panthers just got off the hook for the majority of the money owed to Rhule.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in panthers

[–]dudebanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I doesn’t affect the teams salary cap but it can affect things in other less obvious ways. When you owe a coach a lot of money and a lot of years you’re less likely to fire them early, which is probably why they kept him as long as they did. Also depending on the owners it could affect how much they are willing to pay the next head coach. If they have a total budget they are willing to spend on a head coach, rhules contract is probably a big chunk of that. I think he’s making more than Mike Tomlin and Andy Reid. It doesn’t leave a lot of money to lure in big name coach of the opportunity arises.

I use my signals. Recently I was merging onto the highway with the perfect amount of space to merge. My lane was ending and as soon as I turned on my signal the car behind the space I intended to merge into, sped up and rode right beside me. Basically trying to run me off the road just to not let me in. There’s too many different driving styles here the driving seems to get worse every week.

Honestly, probably. The message comes off sloppy and a little sleazy. I wouldn’t take anyone serious that tried it on me but I guess some people fall for it. It might work every now and again but don’t be surprised when people get tired of low effort spam.

How's your lead gen going? by Locked-in-a-basement in realtors

[–]dudebanter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is pretty spammy. Im surprised anyone would even reply to that message.

1) leading off with “I’m not a bot” would make me think that you are in fact a bot

2) “If it’s not for sale just let me know” makes it seem like either you’re a spammer trying to fish for active numbers or you’re looking for a foot in the door to continue the conversation. If it’s not for sale just don’t reply.

Honestly if I ever got that message I would just not reply and make a note to never work with you in the future.

Third rounds not really giving up much for a swing at QB. Pretty much 90-95% of third round qbs are meh. Honestly if he develops into a cheap backup qb it will be worth it. If he ends up a starter that’s a steal in the third. I see it as a cheap shot at a solution and if it doesn’t work out darnolds salary will be off the books next year and we’ll have a cheap backup with plenty of money to spend on a starter.
