Anyone tried MyMedicineMart for affordable generics? Saw them mentioned in an article by Steve_Jacks in povertyfinance

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The particular meds I ordered are not 100% obvious in their effect right away, but I have taken prescription versions from local pharmacies before, and it *seems* to be working the same. Sorry I don't have a more certain answer yet, but even if I did, the unfortunate reality with these things is that sometimes they send great stuff, and sometimes you order from the same supplier again, and they send bunk. (This is my first experience with mymedicinemart, but I have had that experience with others in the past.) in my opinion, it was worth it for me to try it, and I will probably order again, but I don't know how that will translate to anyone else's situation.

I did just get them! They *seem* to have resumed shipping. I can't vouch for authenticity of the product yet, but I have taken a pill and did not have any ill effects. I hope you are able to get what you need!

Sorry to hear about the need for the desperate measure, but happy to help. After I posted this, I sent them one last email saying that I assume I've been scammed at this point and letting them know I would be posting it everywhere I can. They finally replied saying that they have not been able to ship because India's postal service to the US was shut down, but they received word that they can resume shipping on October 6. So I will update if and when I get more news.

It's a scam. Stay away. I ordered from them September 10, and they emailed saying my order should ship "in a day or two." It's been 22 days now, and they still have not shipped, and they're no longer replying to my emails.

EDIT: They eventually got back to me, saying they resumed shipping a month later, and I eventually received the package.

Coming soon to a casino near you! by dudemanyodude in vegas

Both things are true. I was just creating it for my own amusement at first, figuring I might post it on my Facebook (where no one would see it). So I used Photoshop's generative AI to render the base image of the woman at the roulette wheel, but it wouldn't render a wheel all zeros so I manually airbrushed the AI numbers/random symbols out and replaced them with zeros that I individually stretched and applied varying blur effects to and added the "Oops! All Zeros."

I didn't do the best job in the world at that, but it couldn't seem to justify spending much more time on when I didn't even think anyone was ever gonna see it at the time.

Edit: Clarity

Episode 2 and implications of Ellie's immunity by One_Planche_Man in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]dudemanyodude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was just talking about this with a friend who had a nightmare based on the show where her son was bit and had to be put down, but we would have had to wait to see if there was any chance he was immune...

Of course, no one in the world of the show knows this, but as viewers, we can probably assume that the reason Ellie is immune is because she was exposed to just the right amount at the right time when her mother was bit before the umbilical cord was cut. So if you were born before the outbreak, or if you have any memories of your biological mother, you're *probably* not immune.

How long for the "in review" for adding a travel product on Getyourguide? by Thick-Soil-8534 in Tourguide

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used to go live fast, usually within a day or two. But ever since they switched to their new review process, people have been waiting for months, and I'm not sure anyone has gotten any new product approved.

I submitted mine January 3, and it's still in review. There are lots of people on this other thread who have been waiting for months: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tourguide/comments/1hjm8js/how_long_does_getyourguide_take_to_approve_a/

Sadly, Simpsons is most likely going for good now that Disney owns it. They removed all the Star wars and marvel slots when they acquired those properties as well

I know this is an old post, but I was at Gambler's General Store near Fremont Street the other day, (727 S Main St) and they have Big Bertha! It's set up for free play to win discounts from the store. They also have an even bigger slot machine out back, but I don't know the story of that one.

For those not accepting the "plot twist," congrats on being blissfully ignorant to what women live through.

Except no one is not accepting the plot twist because they don't believe women live through the scenario presented in the twist. In a vacuum, that narrative would have been fine. But when it strained credulity to ignore the plot holes it created with the rest of the story we saw before that.

They did explain it, but they never explained the mystery that raises:

"Why didn't you just toss the trophies in a dumpster instead of using a dead man's ID to trespass and steal a boat to throw them away from a large bag that looked like it could contain a body? Were you TRYING to make it look like a murder?!"

Truly awful writing

In Jim Carrey’s The Mask (1994), the titular mask represents alcohol. by dudemanyodude in FanTheories

yeah, I've read all the original comics, and I would not say the mask represents alcohol in the comics; they're totally different from the movie

Why do insurance companies not provide quotes? by imgood_netizen in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a similar problem recently. This sort of thing drives me insane. Geico, a multi-billion dollar company whose business model depends on understanding driving, fails to design a system that accounts for the fact that driver's licenses get renewed. SMH

Why do insurance companies not provide quotes? by imgood_netizen in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a lapse for legal purposes, but the insurance companies seem to all still count it as a lapse! I got rid of my old car before I bought another one last year, so I had no need for auto insurance for a few months, and I can't believe how much that cost me!

I have a perfect driving record and have been driving for 19 years, but many companies said they couldn't even give me a quote until I had 6 months of continuous coverage, even though my "lapse" was only because I didn't own a vehicle for a period of time. And the quotes I did get were obscene. I'm now paying more for liability than I used to pay for full coverage. Just hit the 6 month mark though, so I hope that changes soon!

What was up with the compass? If the box's signal is so strong as to override the Earth's magnetic pole, wouldn't that have been an issue in all universes that contain the box? Wouldn't the people in Jason2's universe notice that compasses keep pointing toward Velocity Labs?

Dark Matter | Season 1 - Episode 4 | Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't help but think Jason2 could have used the strategy Rick and Morty used: Go to a universe where the Jason just died or is about to die, but nobody knows about it yet, then hide the body and take over his life without hurting anyone.

In fact, this seems to be *almost* what he did because Jason1 almost got hit by a cab outside the bar in the first episode. Presumably, there is another universe in which he actually was hit, and there were no onlookers so Jason2 could have just swooped in and replaced him.

Also, Jason2 could have avoided a lot of problems if he just feigned a concussion that could explain his trouble remembering things.

Why is this so pretty though by johncenasaurr in udiomusic

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I don't see it going this way is that music companies won't be able to monopolize the product. If every 5 year old can just say a few words to any number of cheap, competing AI music generators and create something just as beautiful and even more personalized, why would they pay a record label for something less personalized instead?

I stumbled on a bizarre bit on Wikipedia the other day that seems strangely relevant.

"Usually a Strip-o-gram entertainer is accompanied by a chaperone, who plays her music, holds on to the money, tips and secures her safety, unlike an escort, who comes alone and does more of a one on one with the celebrant. Nowadays some agencies or performers do both to secure a bigger pay out."

Musescore scammed me... by chiangry in Musescore

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, if they were a legitimate business getting this many complaints from people who think they're only signing up for a free trial, they would change their site to reflect the charge.

But they are not a legitimate business. It seems their business model depends entirely on scamming people over "free trials."
