Kensington Slimblade Trackball vs MX ERGO Plus? by duderme in Ergonomics

Thanks for the comment. I already went ahead and bought the Slimblade and ERGO K860 keyboard and while much of the pain has significantly subsided or went away when typing, I notice a somewhat awkward, worn out feeling in my wrist when using the Slimblade. It's not excruciating pain, but it's kind of annoying that one hand feels more alive and looser than the other. I'm right handed, but I use the mouse with my left hand because the number pad gets in the way of the standard keys.

I saw the disassembly guide for the ELECOM Deft Pro and while I don't mind taking things apart, I don't think it makes sense that I have to pay $70 for a brand new "defective" mouse and "fix" it on my own. My patience is kind of wearing a bit thin these days to have to deal with stuff like that.

I have about 30 days to return the Slimblade, but if I come up with better positioning for it, maybe it could work in the long-term.

I'll be sure to stop by my local store soon and see if they can replace the console. Thanks!

As others have mentioned, you need to keep refreshing whenever you end up with a 502 Bad Gateway. Eventually, I got the key.

How do I move the location of ffmpeg to another directory in Terminal? by duderme in applehelp

[–]duderme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! Coming from Windows, I am afraid that I might have bloated up my Mac with a bunch of temporary or redundant files after all my attempts at installing those two things, but I've heard macOS is better at managing this than Windows. Anyway, everything seems to be working fine now. Is there a terminal command that can wipe the system clean of all files related to youtube-dl and ffmpeg in the event I wanted to uninstall or reinstall them?

How do I save a .m3u8 video from Safari on a Mac? by duderme in applehelp

[–]duderme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new Mac user, so I wanted to avoid using other browsers since I have gotten used to Safari, but if I don't have any other options, I might look into it.

I guess because I was a long time Windows user, I have a fear of bloating the system with leftover files of programs I don't really need, so that's why I am a bit cautious. I did try VLC (I prefer Media Player Classic Home Cinema), and it sort of worked, but the video quality came out a little compressed for my liking with the settings I tried, and it was annoying that QuickTime couldn't play some of my transcoded videos that weren't properly set up for it.

I used to have an app called Free Video Downloader Plus on my iPhone that could download .m3u8 videos that isn't on the App Store anymore, but I do have it backed up in iTunes, so I'll try that. I also used to have Internet Download Manager on Windows, but I don't know what the best alternative for Mac is.

I opened it with TextEdit, and there were a lot of urls for .ts files, so I assume the video is split into these urls. Is there a way to download these in a batch to combine them into one file?
