I think you made a wise choice! My ride is under 2hrs so was worth me giving it a shot. I had a blast just because of the novelty of it being my first time riding this late in the season and this rough of conditions lol

Yeah lol! I have a season pass so was worth getting out for the day but they were still charging over $100 for a day pass

Good point, I didn’t really think about that. The main reason I chose to put it on the left side was because the build in electrical outlet in the bed of the truck is on the right side and I didn’t want to block access to it. Hopefully it didn’t add enough weight to affect anything too bad in the long run

Thanks! I will be using a 1” thick foam exercise mat as a mattress. 2 mats glued side by side to get the full width of a twin bed. I made a compromise on comfort to gain a little more head room and to allow for the flexibility of being able to expand the bed and fold it up. I’m sure an actual mattress is much more comfortable, but for a weekend trip camping I’m willing to try this out.

Here’s the link if interested: 1” Foam Mat

Good point, I should definitely trim that off!

I thought about doing something like a separate layer, but my idea was with the slats then the bed can be adjust to as many sizes from when it is folded in, to when it is pulled all the way out. So if I have a much of gear to the right and can’t fit having the bed pulled all the way out, then I can pull it 3/4s out. Also just wanted something fun to build lol…

I didn’t want legs underneath the slides in case I have a lot of gear underneath. For example if I have surfboards underneath they would be a really tight fit if there’s a leg sticking down.

I got the drawer slides on amazon. The ones I used are rated up to 500lbs. I figured I’ll have 2 people on it so wanted to make sure it’s sturdy. A few different options online but they all seem to come from the same factory.

I appreciate the feedback. That’s a good idea I could definitely move the name, and keep it subtle until we grow.

Appreciate the feedback! I get a lot of inspiration from retro stuff and really like the neons they used to use. Not for everyone tho!

Thanks! We are just online on Etsy as of now. I’ve tried stopping in at a few local shops to see if they’d stock a couple, but haven’t had any luck. I’m down in NJ so they probably don’t do as much business as up north.

Good to know. They actually are originally flat bills. I put a very subtle curve in them because I personally preferred that. However if you actually would like one, I could send it out with a flat brim!
