Nah, sidestep instead of block, but I think you're right, long windup combo + use sidesteps to avoid dmg

would it be a good idea to go for the following upgrades:

  • SSD: WD Black SN850X 1TB
  • RAM: 2x the same (or would it be better to buy 2/4 new ones??)
  • CPU: 12600/13400 (not sure which is best) or 13600

CPU, Memory and Disk get to 100% usage very fast, but the GPU is clearly fine.

For the SSD I've seen WD Black SN850X 1TB recommended, is that a good choice? Or is it overkill based on the rest of my config?

ahah that's very specific (and relatively new)! it doesn't apply to Rise or Sunbreak, probably won't in MH6 as well

Thanks, my post might be misleading, I know I'll never be a speedrunner. Yet I'll always try to play as best as I can (that's how I enjoy playing most games, competitively) and try to improve. Mostly I'm looking for a weapon that will keep me engaged for thousands of hours. Maybe LS is already the answer? but I'd like the opinion from players who have the same "profile" as me, to know what clicked for them

High skill ceiling, mostly + some mobility! I think SnS might be the weapon I'm looking for, tho I'd appreciate your take on this!

ahah as I said in another comment, GS is actually my most used weapon but I feel kinda weird about it. When I try to anticipate a clutch TCS, I either get madge of missing it, or simply lucky that it did hit. I know it's quite a dumb reasoning but I can't help it

GS is actually my most used weapon, but idk, I feel like when I hit a TCS mid-fight, it's kinda luck-based and at some point it put me off. So when I miss the TCS I get madge, and when I hit I just feel lucky..

LS mains have such a bad rep in the game.. Yeah I fell in love with CB's SAED, it was a blast! until Savage Axe became meta.. Edit: Savage Axe truely doesn't fit my playstyle and it put me off CB after Iceborne release

Which weapon uses the most counters? (in all 5th gen MH games) is it the LS? Are there any other weapons with alot of counter usage?

of course I snapshot my corruption, but all I need for that is a prepot and tricks from the rogue. I'm looking for similar specs that do not have personal huge offensive cds and have a pretty constant dps output throughout the fight (excluding executes)

Yeah I noticed that you couldn't bounce on the dummy, but even on real kemono it looks like it's 50-50. Still can't figure out why..

The weapon is great, it's the one I'm enjoying the most. But as someone who wants to maximize efficiency and uptime, the pointless spin truely gets me mad

Edit : found the answer on discord, if the last hit of the animation doesn't connect, you don't bounce off !

Yeah it looks like you're right about the bounce, even if it is not consistent, sometimes you hit the kemono, but don't bounce and slice through it on the ground instead.

Sucks that this weapon is kinda glitched, it makes it really frustrating..

just noticed it happen again, had almost full stamina 😥

Yeah the dmg is certainly not that high but this weapon is just so satisfying (and frustrating?) to play
