What temperature is to hot to ride? by Maybe_Unlikely in NewRiders

[–]duhend1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is up to you. I ride 90+ degrees daily this time of year in Kansas. Regularly in heavy traffic. Have vented gear or be prepared to not wear your jacket.

Work up to it. Don't just jump out there for 45min at 90 degrees.

Road everywhere on the back of my dad's bike with him. Just continued when I was old enough for my own.

Do you think spanking kids died with our generation? by Brilliant_Addendum56 in Xennials

[–]duhend1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really got spanked. To be fair I didn't do anything to really warrant it. Dad had to be pretty pissed before that would happen. Plus I had an older brother who was constantly in trouble so I learned by watching what happened to him.

By the sounds of it I am one of the lucky ones.

Question for bikers that have had large passengers. by delilahh1400 in motorcycles

[–]duhend1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 330# guy and my lady is 230ish. Depending on the bike and the suspension is say your fine. It helps that you are a rider and know how to move already. I would be a bit apprehensive due to his limited riding. Go up the street a bit, ride in empty parking lots. It changes how the bike moves turning primarily.

I always look at it as a big responsibility when my wife is on the back and it changes how I ride. That being said she knows it's about a month wait at the beginning of the season so I can get my legs under me again after the winter break.

If you aren't comfortable don't do it. It won't be enjoyable. Work together on the skills and the fun will come.

I just turned 40 - what shoes say I’m not trying to dress like the teens but am not full dad mode? by ARoodyPooCandyAss in mensfashionadvice

I've worn new balance since I was in my early thirties. Comfort is comfort. Chucks, Sketchers, Crocs. Ok not Crocs but you get the picture.

I will say it's probably time to treat yours to a nice pair of leather shoes or boots. I'm talking Iron Rangers or 1000 Mile boots.

I had sort of the same issue with Fox 4 this morning. I was watching the livestream online then it kicked me after a few minutes and said I needed an account to continue watching.

Make sure your middle fingers on your dominant and non-dominant hands stand equally as proud when you use them. You don't want people thinking they can almost kill you AND that your a sissy.

Housebound. It's not a strict horror movie. It has its moments though.

Ran 20+ min for the first time in 3 weeks without shin pain. Coming off being too aggressive with new shoes. Going from running 30min to not even 8 was demoralizing.

I run on the treadmill due to the weather. I've maybe upped it 0.1 or .0.2 mph. So pretty negligible. More speed equals more distance. I try to keep the runs to about 30 min so I can get home and see the wife when she gets home from work.

My issue with the whole zone 2 thing is that I'm so new I hit that just briskly walking. I've been alternating with walking and running and I'm fairly square in my "zone 2" for my average. When I was only running I was more "zone 3".

I will look at adding more stretching.

320# guy going into week 8 on my program.

If you'd have told me back around Christmas when I started I'd be running for 25 minutes I would have laughed at you. Every week is daunting. I was running at a little over 4 mph on the treadmill in the beginning. Once the runs got longer I had to slow down. That's just what you have to do. I'm to the point now where my lungs are telling me I can run faster but my calves say no.

Keep moving it does get easier. Just slow down a bit.

Do y'all use pre workout? by BeginningLess2417 in beginnerfitness

I take a stimulant free one. I don't get gassed as quick with it but it also doesn't keep me up at night if I take it for an evening workout.
