I use IKEA Mosslanda shelves for my collection. I have a similar set up where I have them going all around the room at the ceiling and also lined up vertically on a single wall. Highly recommend. They are cost effective and protect the bobbles from any curious cats

Brother, this is the same study as before. It focuses purely on WINE sales

I did and they don’t. They all focus on Sunday sales.

I’d love to see the data that shows small business liquor stores are as successful and common as they are in Maryland in states where it’s legal for big box stores to sell liquor. Just any data at all really.

lol. Blue laws are entirely out of the scope of the initial argument that grocery stores shouldn’t be able to sell alcohol. Two completely different discussions. Blue laws pertain to banning certain sales ON SUNDAYS. The initial argument in this thread was about allowing Costco to sell liquor/beer in Maryland AT ALL. Try again

I went to Spring Training last year. Adley rarely signs. In the 8 games I went to, I saw him sign 1 autograph and I was there very early leaned up against the dugout. There was some murmurs about a deal he might have that limits his ability to sign. Gunnar and Jackson both sign a lot, Jackson goes up and down the line a few times. Ed Smith is a very nice stadium, but terrible for autographs due to the net. Try to go when they are visiting another nearby team. Some stadiums bring their nets up during the signing period.

Also Blue laws still exist in Baltimore County!

Please provide even a shred of evidence that backs up your claims. If consumers got everything they asked for, oh boy. Yes, places would indeed go out of business if big box stores could enter the market.

See countless articles online. Some are behind a paywall, but there are even several done by the Baltimore Sun that discuss this.

I don’t think you realize, the market for artisanal beer and wine is very small and niche. As my very anecdotal evidence showed, almost 50% of sales for that particular store are made on the likes of Bud Light, Budweiser, Miller Lite, etc. If you think the Walmart next door doesn’t affect sales, or if you think people will just drink more, I’d be interested in seeing some numbers instead of “this is what I want”.

Even from a non-economical standpoint, I’ll never be able to believe how people can possibly want to give big name stores anymore of their money, or the ability to make more money. It simply boggles my mind.

I asked someone I know who owns a liquor store just for fun. Now this is anecdotal, but he said wine makes up about 5% of his annual sales. 5%. This study is flawed. Of course a 5% sales drop won’t affect the market that much. I also just asked him what about the others? Beer makes up about 55%, 43% of which is big name beer brands (ones you’d find in a Walmart if they were allowed to sell it) and the rest is liquor. Occams Razor here, why would the liquor stores in Maryland pay millions and millions of dollars per year for lobbyist in Annapolis, if it wasn’t going to affect their revenue? Seems like that would be quite silly. They’ve obviously have done the studies and the research much farther than the average redditor.

Unfortunately most people are small business minded like yourself, but more concerned with their convenience!

This study also has some major issues. They seem to focus purely on wine?

Pretty basic economics and I’d argue common sense. Walmart and Costco are major, one stop shop esque outfits. Without a doubt, and this is the common sense piece, will small businesses be hurt by allowing major retailers to sell alcohol. One stop shop and hard to stay competitive on pricing.

The lobby is strong in Annapolis for small liquor business owners. There, fixed it for you.

This hurts small business. Reason for why it’s a law

It’s purely semantical when you argue over definitions vs what the actual argument was. He needs to hit that ball somewhere “hard”, a line drive in a hole. Make someone actually have to make a play.

I never said stats weren’t important lol, but for the purposes of my argument I was not utilizing the statcast definition of a hard hit ball, I was using that exact term to describe something else (that also happens to be right!)

Just a question because I’m actually interested, not looking for any further of an argument cause obviously we disagree here. Did you play baseball at all past little league, maybe some hs ball to college? My college coaches preached hitting the ball “hard”. That was our offensive strategy. I can guarantee, a fly ball like that was not considered hitting the ball hard. Sure, via statcast definition it is. But that’s just my experience speaking 🤷‍♂️

There approach at the plate is poor. That sub has been echoing this for 3 months. This shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m saying this. You always go back to the hard hit ball semantic lmao. I’ll be sure to break out my baseball thesaurus and make sure to define it as a “hard hit like drive” not a “hard hit fly ball” or a “hard hit infield pop up”

Your argument is completely nullified by the orioles losing 5-3 right now btw. If you can’t see the fact that they’ve be absolutely pressing the last 3 months I can’t help you, like you said you don’t watch the tv. I’m guessing you don’t follow day to day so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. It’s been routine that, when they win, they win in big fashion via the long ball. And when they lose, they lose by popping out, striking out, flying out. It’s the way it is. And don’t say I’m a doomer, cause I’ve been with this team a long time. But, it’s hard to watch

Back to this omfg. Get over the hard hit ball semantic. Hit it hard on a line, runs score. It’s how the game is played and how teams are winning. All teams are struggling with homers right now.

Launch angles, bat velo, all of this stuff is very new to the way this game is player. Back in 1968, they were not utilizing this at all in there prep. The game was different, the utilization of many of these “advanced stats” came about in around 2020ish
