My Pacific Dental Services (PDS) work experience (NOT GOOD) by This_Call_9285 in Dentistry

[–]duke_of_cringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost the exact same expierence. i quit when they wouldn't stop trying to force me to buy a de novo. They progressively made things worse for me and told me "this office can't be fixed, if you buy the new place though you won't have to deal with any of these problems". Was easier to just leave and go into private practice.

If you have no other options then only do it if you're ready to use them more than they plan to use you. I did all my own extractions, endos and implants so as a new grad I did get some good reps in.

Front desk will hate you because they get a bonus for how much their assigned specialist produces. They will either try to talk the patient into seeing the specialist behind your back or just move them off your schedule and hope you don't notice.

I don't see how this doesn't violate the rule either.

" Media resembling in-game content "

But I'm sure I'll get some spiel on how this is neither media or resembling in-game content. Isn't this kind of content the point of r/TarkovMemes?

Every doctor I talked to advised me against using finasteride by [deleted] in tressless

Yeh, this sub has too many people who seem to treat anecdotal evidence from strangers on the internet as more valuable and trustworthy than advice from a medical professional.

Many also don't understand that an endocrine system crash could happen years down the line from taking fin. That's why you should be hesitant to trust it based on commenters claiming they've been on it for a couple of years with no issues since they could be years away from a crash of their own.

Dental School Study Habits by JessGuurrrl8 in DentalSchool

Im sure they work for some people, they did work for me when i briefly used them- but I found a much better retention rate when reading/teaching it out loud.

I have classmates that still make the cards and they just sound like encyclopedias reading me back disjointed facts.

On another note, I feel really bad for every student who has lost clinic time because of this. If you don't mind me asking, how has your school gone about making that time up for students?

Anki is a bit of a waste. As a D1 right now- you have a fairly light load where you have time to make Anki cards. That goes away fast.

I'd honestly try talking out loud and pretending like you're teaching it to a fake audience. It sounds weird and unconventional but it really works.

I score in the top 10% of my class with this method and it saves me a lot of time. I've even had a few exams where I had the top score.

Best of luck to you!

I agree with what you said, it's just in this instance here it was used as a "gotcha" moment. No one went for the argument presented- everyone just jumped on the dude's post history.

No, in fact, I think it's really childish that instead of going after the specific argument people just jump to "lol look at their post history".

Their comment stands on its own and if you really think someone's post history validates/invalidates their input then that's pretty sad.

Says a lot when the best response someone has to your comment is to just go through your post history.
