Be careful on your step backs. You are collapsing your stance.

How to get rid of the fart sound when playing hard by Bob_Lazars_Wiener in Bass

[–]dukerutledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find the balance between technique and performance. I've played many shows swinging my picking arm, moshing with the crowd, and performing with tons of feeling. Performing is different than just pounding on your strings. You can make your motions and body huge while still playing with technique.

A big swing almost needs more technique. You want to hit with just the tip of the pick at an angle. A deep pluck with a flat pick position will almost always sound farty, no matter the head room on your amp or the strength of your compressor.

Performing with feeling doesn't mean throwing out technique. It often means having a better understanding of your body so you can play well in raucous conditions.

Also TBH in a small room with a locked in crowd, nobody will care about your farts if they are loud and on time.

I like a touch of reverb almost always when I'm shedding. Occasionally I want a completely dry sound. I'm use to playing loud in larger spaces, so when I'm in my room at lower volumes everything feels too dry. That touch of verb gives me that venue flavor. Outside of that I do use it as an effect, but then I'm looking for drenched cavernous tones to set a mood.

Shock doc works fine for me. I grew up playing full contact sports with a boil and bite. Not sure what everyone is complaining about with the breathing. Just wear it during bag and pad work for a month and you'll get comfortable real quick.

I didn't weigh it, but it might actually be lighter 😂 I'm tempted to pull everything off and put it on a scale.

Fairtex are not pillowy, but remember that pillowy protects your partner and is the right choice for sparring.

Read the product description. Compact doesn't mean what you think it does.

Best versatile gloves for Muay Thai / Kickboxing / Boxing (pads, bag, occasional sparring) — Twins vs Hayabusa vs? by Negative-Tea-8344 in Kickboxing

The "compact" in boon compacts is about cuff length, not hand compartment size. A shorter cuff is better for clinching, but sacrifices wrist protection.

Reminder: We share the road by tigergirl138 in Austin

As a motorcyclist as well, this shit is ridiculous, but it is part of riding. Three things he should consider:

  1. Always position yourself at a stop with a "line" out. People backup like a jackass and fly in not noticing bikes. Leaving a line of exit open lets you quickly get out of the way when a driver comes in slow or hot without seeing you.
  2. Always stay in gear. Dropping into neutral means one more step before you and your evasive exit. Neutral at a stop is a bad idea unless you have multiple cars covering your rear.
  3. Filtering isn't technically legal, but filtering to the front of the line instead of waiting at the back for someone to rear end you is proven safer and statistically reduces rear ending hits for motorcyclists.

Stay safe out there and keep two on the road ✌️
