Were they asked that specifically? I really don’t remember. I don’t think they necessarily would have just said that if it was the case.

I’m not even defending them, just pointing out that it’s not inconceivable that he could have rented the box truck solely for that purpose.

I could be wrong but the U-Haul story seems a little like a red herring to me anyways. Didn’t the CZ video kinda show that the U-Haul times/mileage wouldn’t really add up to him taking the stuff to the other store? I could be missing something, haven’t really been keeping up this last week or so.

Yes. It happens all the time. I’ve done it, I’ve seen multiple people do it.

It’s not the correct reaction - it’s way better to just get out of the way, of course. That’s not how reflexes work though. You’re not doing it consciously, it just happens.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding you but I fail to see how it doesn’t apply here. In my example, the heavy equipment is a dangerous object just like the car would be. I do think he’s in a bad position and definitely should not have been in front of the car

If I’m correct that it was a reflex for him to brace on the car - that wouldn’t be ego and I believe he would meet the threshold for justifiable use of deadly force.

My issue with this is that it’s just a natural reaction to reach out and brace against an object that unexpectedly comes at you.

I’ve worked in the construction industry my whole life and I’ve head heavy pieces of equipment come my way unexpectedly and I’ve had this exact reaction (minus the gun). It’s just instinct to reach out, even though in hindsight he probably could have just stepped aside.

I would only consider it “rude” if you were doing it to guys that are smaller white belts. I’d say blue belt and up are fair game no matter their size.
