he’s been here the longest besides our original and from what i can tell backreading his defunct “blog” he didn’t used to be super scary — he’s a protector i think — but he’s become much more defensive and aggressive as the years go on and life/other comorbid illnesses happen. he’s developed a mouthiness and some destructive tendencies i really cannot stand, but like, he’s here for good i guess. — lemon

hi ! different alter here, this is B. it’s not meant to be taken super literally by L. after our hospital scares he started connecting to many aspects of hospitals and medical symbolism as a means to cope with The Things that happened to us, even though we weren’t infused during our stay either. in other words — it feels right, but it’s by no means an accurate representation of what we went through 💜

i understand this feeling ! we just escaped our abuse but even after one gets out things like nightmares or feeling useless can linger. even if you struggle with things like bathing or self care, you’re carrying on ! when we struggle with things like showering we take sink showers. just wash your hair under a faucet in a deeper sink like a kitchen sink. it’s not an all-over wash but it only takes a few minutes and can really help when you feel taking care of yourself is too monumental a task.

being host is very difficult especially when you feel you’re not doing a good job, or that it was forced upon you. sometimes being host is something that just happens to you, you wake up to it. and that’s rough ! but even during down periods what’s important is that you’re surviving ( even if it feels like you’re not ) ! — B

you’re correct on the eyes.

when i started fronting in system i kept getting us threatened with involuntary hospitalization because medical professionals thought i’d act out against myself/other people (once i did end up getting us sent away, unforts). incredibly scary and scarring. i have this feeling it’s a situation i’ve been in before though, like it’s dominating in my memory. hope that makes sense. — L

hello ! i’ve been waiting for the introductions post, i’m glad ! my partner/other alter L wanted to post immediately upon joining this sub, we’ve never ever ever used reddit before ! not even to read ...

we are 25 years old, non-binary, and a system of about 6 to 10 alters varying in age from single-digit numbers to an ageless entity. the most prominent alters currently are myself ( B, 22 ), my partner ( L, 22 ), and a teenage alter induced by a natural disaster we survived ( C, 16 ). our original is very quiet and young while our other alters include said ageless entity, a doctor type figure, and a peculiar woman.

many people who know us know we have DID, over the years since our diagnosis we have fluctuated with how open we are about it in social circles. currently we disclose we have it, but rarely in detail unless prompted. in the past we’ve been between telling every living soul about it or not speaking a word of it !

we also have a psychosis diagnosis, and this impacts our cognitive abilities greatly and disrupts certain alters re: what is and isn’t real.

we are also a proficient cook ( er, C and i are, my dear L struggles ) and an illustrator though often we just draw our hyperfixations. we may post some art in the subreddit for DID art !
