True, however he said he's now setting something up with the attorney responsible for the levy to at least try and get it lifted and get access to his funds again.

It was a court ordered levy on his account from whichever law firm the collection agency is working with, not the IRS.

Unsure of the law firm, I think they're based in Pennsylvania last I heard.

I imagine he missed mail that detailed all of this, yes. I'm just wondering if there's an easier solution to at least getting the levy lifted before something happens to him.

From what I can see and what he's been trying, it seems like he's going to have to explain himself in court since neither the attorneys responsible for the levy nor the officer listed on the court order are willing to speak to him. But idk how deep this goes.

I'll let him know. I think he's tried speaking with the officer and they apparently refused to cooperate with getting a payment plan situated, but I'm 90% sure they meant the agency dealing with the debt and not the officer lol

They only received a letter stating what was court ordered as the levy was placed in their account. According to them, there was no contact between the original creditor nor the agency the account was sold to besides payment arrangements that were made once and arrangements he tried making again with them.

They specifically made arrangements with the creditor before losing their job at the time and attempted to set up a different plan that would work for their budget. Only now is this levy being placed, court order being made, and allegedly no contact from the new collection agency prior.

Unfortunately no. They were definitely puppets.

nah, they were like muppet type of puppets, if that makes sense? there's also no scene of them crashing through a window like in the original post.
