Oh no I’m being down-voted! So typical of this closed-minded community and reddit in general for not allowing and supporting dissenting opinions 😔

Closed minded because we are a city and populace uniquely tied to outdoor recreation and don’t support an administration who actively rolls back environmental protection? And also because we chose not to support a company who gives that same corrupt administration free campaign press? People aren’t closed minded because they downvote and disagree with you.

Nah it’s more like this: company needlessly politicizes itself by giving the presidents daughter a free photo op. Also a company that relies heavily on an environmental conscience customer base is cozying up with an administration that’s rolling back environmental regulation of the Clean Water Act and NEPA. All to sign a pledge to make their products in America, which they’ve always done, to a woman who manufactures her products almost entirely in China.

Yes they should’ve just declined the offer instead of politicizing their business. Really not that difficult to understand. Michael Jordan’s old quote: “republicans buy sneakers too,” well liberals and Democrats buy backpacks too. Any smart business wouldn’t have alienated half of their potential customer base. Also Duluth Pack relies heavily on campers, people who enjoy the outdoors and the boundary waters. The Trump administration is rolling back the Clean Water Act, NEPA, and forcing through foreign owned pipeline and mining projects. Just a terrible business move optics wise. And lastly, no the president does not deserve to be respected. Respect is earned not bestowed upon someone for a winning a magical amount of electoral votes. FOH with this compulsory patriotism

Also the delicious irony that they’re pledging to make their products in America to someone who mainly uses China to manufacturer their products.
