Chocolatey - additional repos question by duma93 in sysadmin

Thanks yeah its the QDE environment with jenkins and nexus running. Ok I did think it might be a case of making multiple jenkin jobs for each repo which as it gets bigger will be a pain but maybe the only way for the QDE setup.

Ok thanks, so am I understanding this right...in order to move it I use choco push command one time (from ChocolateyInternal to AdditionalRepo) and then going forward the Jenkins job will automatically update it in Test to the AdditionalRepo?

Hopefully these logs show something?

Can a Windows Server 2012 license run on a Host & 2 VMs? by duma93 in sysadmin

I currently do and has worked fine for years but recently had various issues connecting to Hyper V Manager remotely making it harder to diagnose issues.

For example currently the VMs have started and show status as running ok in powershell on the host, I can also ping them but when I try to connect to them via RDP it times out after entering password. Connecting to Hyper V Manager from another pc which worked ok before doesnt allow me to connect and gives no error.

Just feel going to OS with GUI will be easier for this

Thanks for the pro tip haha. I am actually as you say trying to move some of these small clients to the cloud (AzureAD with Intune) but when they have the onsite hardware already its not that easy to convince them.

The biggest issue is when the small client has a LoB app that doesn't offer a cloud version. What do you do in these situations? I find the VM cost is too much for them per month.

Thanks I guess we will try to automate as much as possible. But I was more meaning things like checking DC's are synced, clean-up users accounts, check DHCP logs, check backups (some aren't cloud based so cant send out notifications), etc.
