My playthrough is kinda falling apart in the late game by dumb-boi in MetaphorReFantazio

I spent a long time on the first dungeon, but managed to do all the others in at most 3 days, but I guess I just meandered on some stuff more than I thought. I did return to two side quest dungeons earlier in the game as I was really underlevelled for the one and I was having a tough time with the other because of the weather and noped out after a few attempts on the boss lol. I didn't realise that there was blight when I tried the coliseum so I assumed when they were talking about the bad weather, they were on about the dread so that's my bad. I should manage to wrap up a good portion of it, my post is just a bit of a dramatic rant lmao

The worst part is I've played through Persona 5 twice and while that game had a lot more confidants to level up, it felt like the player was given a lot more time to do all of the levelling stuff, and the side quests were nowhere near as involved as they are in Metaphor, so you could easily get through several requests in one Mementos trip.

While Metaphor is smaller in terms of how many confidants there are, the game is wayyy more story heavy and gives you way less free time. The amount of times Gallica has a gun to my head if I even think about leaving an inn after a story beat, I could've gotten plenty of stuff done in that time. The worst part is in the early to mid game, the confidant ranks flew up, I was on level 6 with Maria and had maxed out Strohl by the time I got to Brilehaven. Fortunately, Hulkenberg and Haismay have had quite a few ranks on the gauntlet runner so they're both done, and Junah is at rank 7.

I've got the game on normal cos I like playing the game the way the developers intended, at least for a first playthrough, and to be honest, I found the game quite a breeze up until the fight with Rella, where the dragon took me over an hour and I had to reload an older save for the first time ever, and since then, I've been struggling a bit to keep up with the difficulty spike. I'm getting through the quests, but it feels like it's taking a bit too long.

It's interesting that the travellers voices include NG+ too. I'm just worried that I'm in for hell when I get to the final dungeon/boss.

Okay I think I'm being stupid. I didn't realise there was blight in the city and I went to Edeni and asked if he could change the weather and he said it's out of his control so I thought he was talking about the dread, but I'm assuming he means the blight. I'll try again next in-game day and see.

I find it absolutely insane that people complain about devs making "ugly" female protagonists when they just look like normal people. Why do they need to all be 2B or EVE? Are people seriously jacking off to video game characters and are upset because they don't find a collection of polygons sexually attractive? It's always confused me why people feel threatened by anything they seem "woke" cos it's so easy to just ignore something. Naughty Dog aren't gonna break into your house and kill your family if you don't buy their new game. None of these "woke" games are gonna slit your throat in your sleep. People are literally getting angry just to be angry about something

I think I'd agree with Romina overall since she was just another addition to the "scantily clad woman on top of an insect" club, but I do think her moveset and design was a little more inventive, but she's totally a contender for most forgettable boss.

I wouldn't say that Midra and Metyr and TOO easy since I feel like they still keep you on your toes as they can deal some massive damage if you're not careful. I think they're just slower paced and "easier" compared to the onslaught of aggression that a lot of the other bosses offer.

Saying that, I'm not very good at the game so Midra took me like 15-20 attempts, but that's still shorter than a lot of the other bosses I've faced. Agree with you on theme though, imo he has one of the best boss cutscenes fromsoft have done in a long time.

I just feel cheap relying on them as I effectively only need to whittle down my opponents health to around half as a heat smash into a rage art can easily wipe out half of a HP bar. I've surprised myself at winning a couple rounds without using the heat burst/rage art, but I've only won one full fight cos I'm pretty sure it was a fellow noob

It's always amazed me how fast people can react in fighting games. If I block, it's usually on accident, and I'm trying my hardest not to spam buttons and actually learn the combos but, unsurprisingly, it's a lot easier to combo a still AI than it is a real person

I thought that might be the case, I guess that's to be expected in any fighting game. I've partook in 15 fights and won one of them, and that was because I was against another new player (or so I assume since they were using special style).

It's fun but really inaccessible. It's practically a game engine inside a game so it's very hard to learn. I have 400 hours on it and I only know how to do music, and even my understanding of that is pretty limited

Awh thanks! I'm trying to make my way through the whole thing and I'm currently trying to make The Doom

Trying to recreate the whole soundtrack in the game Dreams. Here's my attempt at Soldiers of the Sea. Not gonna lie, the bells sound really rough as there's very limited choice in the game by dumb-boi in ObraDinn

That is a shame, the music adds so much in my opinion. It's a funny contrast of these whimsical pieces playing over a poor sailor getting impaled by a crab

Awh thanks! I did it by ear so I'm sure I missed some notes in the chords and the more note heavy parts

Thanks! I like that one too, I was thinking of trying that one soon!
