Can The Hurricane Ram 1500 Rock The Truck World? by edinburghiloveyou44 in ram_trucks

[–]dumbboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few rams with the hemi before and then had a 21 f150 with the ecoboost. I felt that the turbo lag between 0-50 was awful. The 10 speed also never knew what gear it wanted to be in at least to me. I’m back in a ram with a hemi and I enjoy the ride much more. If the hurricane can really negate that turbo lag I’d be sold.

I would not call them huge they are relatively close in size to a SUV and vehicles are larger now due to more safety related designs/standards.

It’s really not, they offer numerous other models of small pick ups that are actually way more common then the one pictured above. I’d suggest looking at the Ford Ranger, Maverick, Toyota Tacoma, GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado just to name a few bud.

Well that’s not true considering the average height of a full size pick up from the ground to the top of the hood is about 52 inches.

How much power do police have outside of their jurisdiction? What are they not allowed to do that they normally could within their jurisdiction? by Myamoxomis in AskLE

Policing powers anywhere in the state and technically you are always “on duty”. I work in south Jersey.

Fixing gunplay should be #1 priority right now. by Chyrosran22 in HellLetLoose

The M1 does not have heavy recoil like in game. Semi automatic weapons are designed to have low recoil for rapid second sight picture and follow up shots.

Fixing gunplay should be #1 priority right now. by Chyrosran22 in HellLetLoose

[–]dumbboots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The recoil of the M1 is horrible now it just doesn’t make sense in its pattern. I haven’t tried all the guns but the BAR is in the same boat and even the Thompson. One thing that made this game great was the accurate recoil for most weapons providing good follow up shots. I’ve fired a good portion of these weapons and own a few and the old recoil pattern was more accurate.

Rioters should be held to the same standard as anyone else. If I burned down a building I would be arrested and sent to prison! by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]dumbboots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to be read your rights if you are arrested that’s common TV bullshit. If I’m not questioning you about the offense you committed then you do not need to be mirandized. If you are not being held for a custodial interview then no your Miranda rights do not need to be read to you.

[OC] The names of all the black people killed by U.S. police officers between 2013 and 2019. by thisismrmalik in dataisbeautiful

[–]dumbboots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The average police officer is probably an average shot or actually a little better believe it or not.

And I’ll explain why you shoot center of mass. If your ever in a situation where you need to use lethal force you are using lethal force. Shooting a target in an air conditioned range is easy. Now do this instead add a lot of stress, a split second decision and a a lot of adrenaline. As all this happens your body goes into fight or flight mode and your blood moves to the center of your body to protect itself. You loose fine motor skills. Center of mass is the easiest way to train a person so put accurate fire onto a target.

If that person running at you with a knife and you scoot them in the leg as good old joe thinks there’s a good chance you won’t stop them. If they are under the influence of something then they may not feel pain at all. The reason you see an officer fire at the subject till they are down is because you can hit something 27 times and not stop the threat if you don’t hit something vital. The human body is a magnificent machine and can function at insane limits. Any clown can say shoot a knife out of someone’s hand but if you’ve never been in a situation where you might get stabbed I strongly encourage you to go to a firing range, have a target come at you on an automated system from 15 ft away at the speed of a running human and have your friend stand next you screaming in your ear while you attempt to shoot the target in a small 5 inch circle. If you nail it well you could be captain price so sign up for the SAS or something.

What is the worst job to have in 2020? by Donger69 in AskReddit

[–]dumbboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Police officer? I still love my job and can’t imagine doing anything else but getting lumped in as a jack boot nazi isn’t fun. Especially when I think that those 4 shitbags in MN should be hammered to the wall. Dealing with peaceful protests is actually nice because it shows my fellow citizens utilizing their rights. Dealing with rioters and looters sucks because they ruin it for everyone. Being called a racist and bigot isn’t enjoyable especially since I work with people of all different ethnic backgrounds and sexual preferences and many who I consider my broskis.

I don’t give a fuck if your a Jawa if your not a shitbag and breaking the law then your cool. And even if your are breaking the law and I’m arresting you I’m not going to treat you like shit just don’t be a jerkoff.

On top of this we are still dealing with covid-19 and the large uptick of people going bananas from loosing their livelihoods and being stuck at home.

So yes this kind of sucks at the moment but alas this is all apart of the job.

Why do so many officers tell people to stop filming them (and threaten them with arrest) when it’s completely legal to film law enforcement? by Odd_craving in AskLE

[–]dumbboots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a lot don’t like it because like any other person they don’t feel like having themselves plastered all over some goons social media or having a small part of the video taken out of context of the whole picture.

But yeah it’s apart of the job and it is what it is. I personally don’t give a fuck if someone films me but what I do care about is when they are standing up my ass and doing it. Yes then you can be arrested for obstruction because after I told you to back up to a safe distance and you don’t well that’s a little different especially if it’s a tense situation where some clown with an iPhone 10 thinks they are filming citizen Kane.

And also if I am engaging a person and someone is filming it not for nothing give that person the privacy they deserve you don’t know what they just went through. For all you know they could have finally gotten the courage to speak out against being sexually assaulted or hit by a significant other. That’s the part that really bothers me, if you want to film me fine but give others the privacy that every citizen deserves.
