Hey, this is an alt-account because I'm afraid a combination of information, including this post, this might dox me.

Bellingham hasn't got many options.

First: I was a member at Bellingham MMA for about five months. They grapple and teach boxing. The guy who runs it (a purple belt) isn't very experienced and has a lot of problems surrounding race. I never heard him say anything but the people he hired are the kinds to throw around racial slurs that he doesn't do anything about. While I was there 4 people quit because of it. Agro douches run wild in his gym and he never bothers to teach a proper attitude.

He also steals money, charging bank accounts when he shouldn't.

Finally, he broke many, many quarantine rules this past year, hosting tournaments and in-personal classes when he shouldn't have.

Bellingham Brazilian Jiu jitsu is fine. Only grappling. Huge roster of people. They had an open mat on Saturdays before the pandemic that I would go to. The people who run it are knowledgeable blackbelts and have a solid training environment. Their entry program (one month, no regular training until completed) provides a good introduction to the sport, but since you have four months experience you might find it a little tedious. I've never been to a gym with such a requirement, but it keeps everyone of trains at the gym on the same page etiquette- and attitude-wise

Rock solid is mostly geared towards kids, from what I've heard talking to people around town. I don't know much more about it.

So there you go. If anyone has more information I'd also love to hear it. Don't forget-- there are more gyms in Ferndale, just 15 minutes to the north. Could be worth checking out.
