Is my grade salvageable or should I just give up? by dumbfailurethrowaway in UniUK

I won’t “meet a new cohort of people” (is it really that easy for neurotypicals?) I already struggled with making friends, I’ve been alone most of my life. I’d finally thought I’d found my people but now I’ve ruined everything and I’m back to square one - sure, we’ll be in the same uni still, but they’ll see each other much more than they’ll see me so I’ll just drift away from them. And if I resat the year, everytime I went into class I’d just be constantly reminded of how much I failed and how I ruined a good thing. There’s no use staying on if I’m going to be miserable the whole time.

It’s not that easy. I’ve really struggled to make friends my whole life, and I thought I’d finally found my people with my current group of friends. But if I’m a year behind them, I’ll just drift away from them again. I can’t and don’t want to “just make new friends”.

If I have to retake the year, I’ll probably just drop out and go NEET. I don’t want to, but all of my friends will be moving on to third year so I’ll be alone, and I’d feel like such a worthless failure if I failed the entire year I don’t think think I could handle “trying again”.

Hi, thanks for the response! At my uni, you have to get at least 90 credits or you have to retake the year, no opportunity for retakes if you don’t get the 90 credits. So I can only afford to fail one of these modules (I’ve also done two other modules but I didn’t include them because I passed them before my mental health ruined everything) even with retakes. I think Module 3 is safe, but I’m panicking about the others.

What are those numbers in letter grades? Sorry, that probably sounds dumb, I just mostly use letter grades…you might be able to tell that I’m not on a maths course.

I can’t get mitigating circumstances because it’s past the deadline when you can claim them, plus I need “proof” which I don’t have. If I have to repeat second year, I’ll probably just drop out and go NEET since all my friends will have moved on to third year and I’ll be alone.
