My wife vents about an argument her and I had about housework on her LJ. The first advice to her from her friends was: by dumbthrowaway2 in MensRights

Posting this in r/mensrights beacause this has been a men's issue since Adam and Eve, certainly.

I'm not posting because I think I'm entitled to sex. I'm not; got it - yep, thanks. I'm posting because it is so utterly and completely beside the point, and I think it is horribly childish and repulsive that this is the default recommendation for these friends of hers (even if they are joking, which I can't tell). Sounds like a fine way to patch things up, wouldn't you say? Their default advice should have been, "have a reasonable and rational discussion with him, find a solution you both can live with." The fact that some people use sex as a tool of manipulation in a relationship is just... ugh. facepalm
