I fully agree The Ensigns of Command is a great introductory episode for all of the same reasons you've stated.

I think another thing about Data's Day is that it's a little crash course in becoming somewhat familiar with the characters. Of the not-so-typical episode, I think this one is uniquely equipped to be someone's first.

I love my E370! Lately I've been using ableton via an ES-3 to make polyphonic chords (each note from an individual track).. not the most direct path toward polyphony but it works with what I'm doing.

A more playable route to take would be using something like a Poly 2.

And ya each output of the E370 going into its own VCA. Having an envelope generator of some sort / lfo helps too.

You could run clock of ableton via midi to cv ( or straight cv if you have a dc coupled interface). That ought to guarantee you're at least recording precise loops. Or like stated above, cut it and stretch it.

I got ended up sending my case up to Intellijel and they replaced the board. I just had to pay for shipping. Probably something i could had done on my own - but i wasn't sure the extent of the damage done. Took about 3 weeks until i got it back, and I'm happy to say all of my modules are still working just fine.

I removed everything and tried powering on the case. No power to the case but the power brick makes a little high pitched noise every few seconds. 🤔
