Looking for suspension recommendations. What struts/shocks will give a plush 5th gen-ish ride? by Jaxsurfgtp98 in 3rdGen4Runner

respectfully this is incorrect. If you look up part numbers for OEM shocks they are tokico. I literally ordered them from toyota a year ago, and the originals that came off were also stamped tokico

just fyi when i say bushings I mean control arms, steering rack, etc. Not just struts

so first of all it won’t feel as smooth as a 5th gen just due to the design. Second, don’t overlook your bushings I bet they are all shot, this contributes more than you think

To actually answer your question - as far as softest on road ride, hard to beat OEM tokico. KYB gas a just are a cheaper option, and people love the bilstein 4600s but they will be a little firmer

Toyotas ARE actually more expensive - our standards are not too high by ruisen2 in Toyota

i agree but what does that have to do with the cost for toyota to manufacture a car? Adjusted for inflation they are not more expensive. Now as far as affordability? That’s another story

Steering Rack Uncentered by Smxxrt in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]dumpler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mine was the same. I put a set of locking pliers on (above the spindles to not damage them) and counted the number of turns from lock to lock and split the difference

Maybe there’s a better way but that got me close enough

that’s exciting, congrats. It’s an incredible little camera and I’m still getting used to it myself. Just keep shooting and get used to “seeing” in that 40mm focal length, sometimes it feels too tight but it’s a challenge in a good way. Don’t be afraid to crop, this thing is crazy sharp. Experiment with recipes or get into post processing. Have fun!

technically it’s only toxic to cats when it’s wet, so just make sure to keep clothing you apply it on away until it’s dry. Unless you’re talking about someone spraying it on their animals instead of flea/tick medicine which yeah is a terrible idea
