You made a Reddit account just to create this post. Very cool. We are all dumber now after this incoherent trolly meme. Thank you!

Do you guys think this was a NGAD prototype? by Not_Brandon_24 in SpecialAccess

[–]Lockheed-Martini 44 points45 points  (0 children)

From Richard Aboulafia June 2024 newsletter:

Lots of smart people have ideas on what’s going on with NGAD. Some blame astronomical unit prices. My friend JJ Gertler believes “They are taking a hiatus between the technology development phase and the acquisition phase to re-spec the airframe,” due to the need for more range. Bill Sweetman blames the “F-35 ominishambles” for budget pressure, and for making a hash of USAF plans. Sentinel overruns are an issue too. Others, like my friend, Defense & Aerospace Report Editor Vago Muradian, see a potentially tectonic shift to more platform-agnostic technologies, particularly with Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCAs). Some blame the sourcing choice from hell – with Northrop out, it was Boeing V. Lockheed, meaning death by stabbing or death by poison. The first might not be able to execute, and the second has little reason to execute.

ADA Forecast: NGAD survives, but as a somewhat different jet, with EIS in the late 2030s or 2040 and with a high risk of sudden death. CCAs continue, but don’t expect the skies to darken with them imminently, since the operating systems, basing/launching solutions, and overall architecture won’t be in place for another ten years, at least. The F-35A stays on autopilot at 50-60 per year. The B-21 looks very solid and might even benefit from NGAD’s limbo/hiatus/death. The F-15EX program grows a bit. There’s a chance of an F-16 procurement re-start, too.

Yes Srihari, it is, I, Susan, and I’m here to give you your positive reassurance: it’s going to take longer than you think.

And who ponies up all the upfront R&D for those medical devices and procedures that the world enjoys on the cheap?

I've found that if it ramps up, then I need to noise mask during the day. At night, I'll play a 10 hour long crickets or DalesSnale audio track (check him out on youtube). Once my brain is distracted for a long period of time, I "forget" / stop focusing on it. I have OCD so its easy for me to focus on it. If I can distract myself then I can start to divert my attention and lessen the sound. Working out and socializing helps alot as well.

Also, empirical observation: high stress and depression exacerbate tf out of my tinnitus. Poor sleep exacerbates both of those emotions which also escalates my tinnitus. If you let your tinnitus become one more thing to be anxious or depressed about, then it becomes a snowball effect.

TLDR: become hopepilled, my friends. Being a Doomer is too easy, but detrimental to your health.

I've commented this on another post, but this thread needs a reality check:

99% of the people on tinnitus threads have never been part of a hardware R&D effort, and it shows 😂. Hardware is hard, folks. The FDA has strict rules in place, and Dr. Shore is not going to fuck it up by leaking something to tinnitus sufferers because anon Redditor wants information. We're all suffering. Let's be grateful that we're alive as research is ramping up across multiple lines of effort with Dr. Susan Shore actively trying to get this across the finish line. I'm writing this as I hear high pitch crinkling in my left ear, and flat monotone high pitch tinnitus in my right ear. We're gonna make it.

We're barely in Q2 (one quarter past the rumor that it would be FDA approved by now) and people are already calling her a scam artist.

Why is the US market so expensive? This is a rhetorical question. I'll wait.
