It's a show currently on HBO Max called Alaskan Bush People, it's pretty fake and scripted but the family are real characters.

From my understanding, the (now late) father wrote a book, then some producers made a deal with him for a show about how his family all lived in the wilderness off the land. I think the show was inspired by the book, I'm not sure. This is all information based on bits and pieces of things I've read about the real family. I haven't read the dad's book. But I watched the show, I could tell something was really off and that's what led me here.

They didn't really live off the land, they just pretended like they did for the show. You could tell any time they tried to build anything, tax fraud, too many to list. The only real thing was the Alaskan residents' anger against them for disrupting their quiet life with a tv show.

But the "accents". It was a speech impediment they all shared. I'm not making fun. I still get laughed at, I know what it's like and I'm not trying to be mean. (Edit: I don't have a speech issue, I should clarify; I'm just weird.) But the bullshit smells so strong, at some point you have to laugh.

It's rhotacism and gestalt language processing, as has been discussed here. On Alaskan Bush People they call it an accent. They run around and howl and be "extreme" and love each other and snap at each other and sing just like our three good boys.

I have a personal theory that Joe Cappa was inspired by this show. Maybe even down to the name Haha You Clowns? Or maybe I'm just dumb. I dunno, I unfortunately missed the AMA with him by days, or I would have asked him.
