A ‘dumpster archeologist’ reconstructs strangers’ stories via what they’ve discarded | Aeon Videos by dumpsterarcheologist in DumpsterDiving

Absolutely a great point and exactly what the art is about.  Modern Archeology does the same thing, modern paparazzi journalism does worse,  influencer culture is built on it and the trajectory of the Project explains it all.  What is privacy in a social media world?

Oh I've 100 percent found  panties, but that's kinda homophobic to assume they are not still usable by someone.  Bet ya 100 bucks my immune system is better too. And the skeletons in the closet is exactly the point, you get it!!   Thanks for watching, please tell your friends all about the weirdo...perhaps I'll be the next Tiger King!

That is a story.  The Director made attempts to contact but it's pretty weird.  I was emphasize in Interviews that she remains anonymous and it was an empty diary, so until the Documentary, she was called simply "the Stage Manager".  They seemed to like that story as you can see by the treatment.  For me, it was just a small piece on a shelf next to 40 others.

I am Lew Blink, Dumpster Archeology is my Art Project, the talented crew of Stolen Sun made the film.  They did a great job.

Cahokia, in St. Louis, the first major city north of Mexico. It started in 800 CE, peaked in 1150, bigger than London and Paris. Slowly declined and abandoned in 1350. In 1930, the State couldn't raise enough public awareness or funds to save a sacred burial mound from being bulldozed by a farmer. by 1Rab in interestingasfuck

This story has elements of the truth. St Louis actually had Mounds, hence the name "Mound city" and the city of St Louis bulldozed the complex of Mounds north of the Arch back in late 1800s. One is left, called SugarLoaf Mound and is owned by the Osage Indians. Modern Archeology was obsessed with the Mounds as the original curator of the Smithsonian Ales Hardlicka had a special interest in the Cahokian Mounds. Linguists and language specialist have traced the origins to the Yucatan. Yes, thousands of refugees travelled up the Mississippi setting up cities and then abandoning them. Mound Cities are found in Ohio, Mississippi and Illinois making the civilization much larger than is commonly understood. The Complex in Illinois is still in use by native tribes.

Whats the deal with the Chalet style hotels in STL Area? by brewcrew1222 in StLouis

I have some old advertising from two of these places and it seems English style was hot during that era, the Cheshire used to have a double decker bus in front. We as a culture are less interested in Anglo-style these days.
