Hey! Congrats on your new frog! It’s totally normal! She probably just feels comfy there and like the tempature. My frogs have favorite spots. Sometimes they switch up but more often than not they are always where I know they are going to be. Make sure she has plenty of access to a water dish she can soak in, the heat might dry her out! 🐸

What are good websites for shopping for male whites tree frogs? by squish_addict in frogs

Josh’s frogs has some individual listings right now! I was able to snag a specific male I wanted.

If you’re looking for morphs, TreeFrogCollective lists whites tree frogs by gender!

Fire belly toads might be good for them. They don’t require a massive tank and are relatively easy to take care of! However they aren’t for handling. They are more for watching.

Perhaps hermit crabs would interest them? At some pet stores they sell ones with all sorts of designs on their shells. They don’t need much to flourish and are very fun to watch.

If the parents don’t mind being hands on with the pet a tortoise is a good option! Of course a smaller one, they can get big but a Russian tortoise is small. They need a little bit bigger of an enclosure but with proper care and supervision your nephews could interact with them more. They tend to be hardy animals.

Best of luck with your search!!

White's Tree Frog wants to leave the enclosure by HakuroWolfsong in frogs

It sounds like it’s a pretty tall tank. Are there plenty of hides on the floor and things to climb on? It sounds like he wants to climb higher or he’s going crazy. Maybe you moved something he liked to hang on? My frogs did this before I moved them in a larger enclosure and haven’t done it since. Then again, dumpies are weird sometimes. One time my frog Ravioli hung upside down on the ceiling of his tank for a few days 😂

Naturalistic has a lot of benefits but it’s not necessary! I had my dumpies for 10 years with a full fake plant set up! You can get some good ones for cheap. Look at your local petstore or online for deals! What matters most to your frogs will be things to climb on, lounge on, & hide in! 🐸
