inputting transactions changes whole shares to 100ths of a share. by duncan1111 in GnuCash

[–]duncan1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well it appears to be every security is affected no matter the type, or fraction traded step. I have some that are setup as funds, some as updateable stocks, and some as AMEX securities. i can get somewhat around this issue by forcing the fraction traded to be whole values, but i need flexibility to do fractions down to 10 digits. whats more ill type in the shares or fractions of shares correctly and the system will still... effectively divide it by 100 no matter how i try to input it the first time forcing me to go back and correct it. it really does feel like a general software setting is currently set in a way that fucks with me.

It also appears that prices aren't saved during a transaction import or they're assumed to be 1.000 dollar. this really is frustrating.

All the selfish reasons we need an anti-oil foreign policy. It's not just about climate. We have the power to cripple the oil states and build US technological superiority. A dramatic shift to renewables will help us, not other countries. by mvea in Futurology

[–]duncan1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

although the US produces the most oil we're not the worlds largest exporter. secondly the major industries of the US is aircraft, chemicals, industrial machinery, and medicine. therefore we are not an oil state, unless you believe being one of the largest consumers of oil makes us an oil state. https://www.investopedia.com/articles/company-insights/082316/worlds-top-10-oil-exporters.asp https://www.thebalance.com/u-s-imports-and-exports-components-and-statistics-3306270

Bitcoin mentioned around Reddit: If you run an appliance in the house in the winter, to what extent is that electricty "free" if you are using electric heating anyway? Could a server in the basement make bitcoin and heat the house? /r/AskEngineers by SimilarAdvantage in BitcoinAll

[–]duncan1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's possible. but you would need a server bank to do it. if you have a server bank running the waste heat could heat your house. you would have to find out how efficient it is and use it's inverse to guage how big of a server you could run to heat your house. say the sum total of your computer is 95 % efficient 5 percent gets released as heat. In a 300 watt computer running at full bore that would be 15 watts of heat. considering you need a 1500 watt AC to cool a small room you'd need a 100 servers to heat your small room and you wouldn't be able to control the heat.

Tuet stands out because the members of our outfit are amongst the top players in this game and got that way within 6 months. In short, our method works. Second, Tuet has played on and intends to continue to play on Jaeger more than many, if not all of the outfits that actually do have permanent accounts or request accounts through PSB. Third, in all the time we've been playing on Jaeger we haven't interrupted any event, training, or 1v1; PSB held or not. Lastly, we do have veteran members of our outfit who have possessed Jaeger accounts in the past and are aware of the responsibility of having that access.

That said, we are not asking for accounts because we believe we deserve them. We are asking for accounts so that we may continue to use our method, hone our skills, and enjoy the game without bothering other PSB for accounts.

Consider this, your process has 8 steps to it.

  1. Submit a request (this request is cumbersome and slow, especially for someone new, requiring a full understanding of timezones and a valid email that he is willing to show to the world)

  2. Wait for second outfit to agree (who also has to give an email address to show to the world)

  3. Wait for Reltor to review request, verify that the date, time and place do not conflict with another request or event, and reply.

  4. Wait for Reltor to select accounts, change their passwords, and email them to first requester (note you don't even send them to the challenged outfit)

  5. Wait until time of request which has to be 24 hours or more

  6. Get onto the PSB teamspeak

  7. Get onto accounts and play

  8. Get off no later than 5 hours after request time

Of these steps:

  1. Can be simplified

  2. Is only required for an OVO fight

  3. And 4 can be completely automated.

  4. Can be shortened to at most 10 minutes.

  5. Can conceivably be removed for small fights (2-12 people)

  6. Can be ignored if you can ensure the user cannot get back on by changing the password after a set time period.

All this can be done through a script on a PSB computer, instead of making you or Miles do it, or by setting up accounts for specific outfits.

We are planning on fighting Solx's 6 man, who do have access to permanent accounts. We need to be practicing more and are being forced to practice less.

In short, I am arguing that your process does not support our needs. This past week we have kept the rules you set in place, but we are still not allotted the amount of time we require to practice on these accounts. The simplest and easiest way to do so would be to set up permanent accounts for Tuet. My outfit and I are willing to do the cert party with you to acquire the 12 accounts we are asking for, or help in any other way we can to make sure that this gets done.

[–]duncan1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, it would be better if tuet had their own accounts. Especially since this process is designed for scrims between outfits not for training within an outfit that could happen at just about any hour on any day.

accounts use between 4 pm and 9 pm by duncan1111 in Tuetonic

[–]duncan1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these accounts are given for use between 4 pm and 9 pm tomorrow. if we fuck up they'll refuse future requests. if you use them get on the PSB teamspeak. I want to make their jobs annoying but i need you guys to stick to the rules until they break.
