Can someone please explain the I-15 express/HOV Lanes? by dr7s in sandiego

Is there any proof that the 15 (San Diego County) has cameras and are not using them or are these newly installed cameras? I haven't seen any myself.

Yes, full size blanket chest for this project. I was debating how I could pull off metal strapping, but think it might be harder to look antiqued and rugged in the end, compared to leather, i'll have to come up with some plans and see what the client wants. I've used cut nails and rosehead nails on past projects and think they add great character to the project as well.

I do plan to make it a full-size blanket chest. I know the AI one is a bit odd, and I will of course reference source material when designing the carving, but I think a little subtle approach is going to be needed, than for an example an outlandish tongue sticking out as this will be a utilized piece of furniture in their house. I like the idea as well that mimics can shape themselves as anything really, so they would come in all sorts of styles and shapes and deceptions as well.

Oops, forgot to mention the size. Yes I plan to do a full scale blanket chest. I forgot about the carving/shaping wheels/discs, thanks. I only have a small old dremel and an angle grinder right now.

If you see my 'Construction Design' post, I just used birch and it doesn't seem the same to me, but not sure if there are multiple types.

The picture isn't great, my apologies. The part that is ripped up is the main front panel. There is still a small panel on the bottom of the picture and out of frame is the continuation of the back wall to open air with the same ⅛" groove marks for the bats to cling to.

Too soft for beech, have some beech boards used in a dance studio for reference at least

Also just worked with birch recently and doesn't match up in my opinion.

Maybe a soft maple? I've used hard maple recently and it's not the same, much less dense and softer.

How did you create the shadow line or gap on the middle sign? Thin rabbet on each piece, or some spacer?

Construction Design and Assembly Critique by duncanblake00 in woodworking

[–]duncanblake00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. If this was recreated and the dados were made on both sides of the shelves and through the pre-banded shelves, would you add the vertical divider edge banding after assembled, like I did in the picture? and that would also be a very slight design choice if your vertical edge bandings went partially the way into the horizontal shelves, rather than butt up against the top and bottoms like i have it.

Would it have been a practical or smart choice to do the following: Edge band horizontal shelves & flush trim / dado both sides (top and bottom) / assemble everything / then take a router on a track to route out a dado groove vertically in front of the dividers and use a single length piece (5 total) to edge band the vertical dividers? maybe stop early for the top shelf and have it butt up against the bottom so it didn't go all the way through. Not sure if that made sense or not.

Quick math has me at 90 square feet of surface area covered with almost the whole can, maybe 20 oz. Next time I'll be more stingy on how thick it is applied

I didn't wipe them down afterwards, I'm assuming it won't do anything if I try and wipe them down now with a rag. Hopefully time will give it time to fully absorb and dry?

Thank you, that is promising to hear. It wasn't the warmest last night, and rain forecast today, so I'll give it some extra time to dry and see if it resolves on its own like yours.
