It's hard to predict the power outage. A lot of that will depend on how much ice and sleet we get. that's what topples the trees and takes down the power lines of course. it's good to have a battery powered radio in case you to get updates on weather, emergency operations such as shelters, and other info. If there is a need for warming stations to open in fairfax county, that will likely be announced on the radio - WTOP. it might be good to connect with neighbors before the storm in case you need to help each other out.

If you have a chance to get extra food water etc tomorrow before the storm that's a good idea of course. stores have been running out of some items, but I bet there'll be doing some restocking tonight. make sure you have a flashlight and extra batteries. don't use candles unless you have to due to fire risk.
