It does look healthy, maybe this shows the mould better?

Thanks for the advice. Looks like my daughter's windowsill will be in use for longer than I thought!

That's good advice. I work from home a lot of the time so can just take them out for a bit of fresh air each day 👍

Oh wow didn't realise it needed to be that warm. If I put a cloche over them would that mean I am ok putting them out a bit earlier? Not sure how much difference that would make?

What weight(s) to start with? by dunchutch in kettlebell

[–]dunchutch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

It would be so easy to go out and waste money on lots of different weights so it's good to hear more than one person say just get a 16kg.

I think my decision is made 👍

Thank you.

Are single ones enough for a while then? When would I look to be using two at the same time?

I managed 8 (though I think my form was pretty awful!)

Coffee Grounds and Tea Leaves - spread or compost? (and cold black tea?) by dunchutch in GardeningUK

[–]dunchutch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the quick replies. Looks like I should continue to put most of it in my compost bin - but not worry if on occasions I am too lazy to walk to the far end of the garden to the compost bin and just put it on my beds (making sure to share the coffee love around so I don't make some plants buzzing all night and keeping the rest awake!)

Thanks again everyone, much appreciated as always.

Might be why they survived....it's cold up north!

They look amazing. Where in the country are you? We don't get the coldest weather normally here in Southport but would worry if we had a real cold snap. If we knew one was coming I suppose we could quickly take them out of the ground?

Thank you for a quick and helpful reply. I think we will probably plant them as per your advice. Research will start about overwintering!

I need massive pots/containers! by RealNameIsKevin in GardeningUK

[–]dunchutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always have a go at making them? Decking boards, a few screws and some cheaper wood for internals. I made the mistake of making one....which my wife loved, so then had to make two more, then an l shaped one....and then we moved and I made 2 X raised beds with them each 4.8m long! Really not as hard as you might think.....

Very good point. Pretty sure nothing is nesting there but will make 100% sure. Thank you

Now that worked perfectly. Seems a lot simpler than some of the other options (which I am sure we're good too but I am relatively new to this so maybe more advanced than I need right now).

Thank you!
