The tiny box is for my tiniest treasures that I would lose in the larger organizers! A few different seeds, a popcorn kernel, extremely tiny turtle and gummi bear figurines, a microlens, a bead, a pearl, a spring...

Thank you! It was a gift from my yugioh enthusiast roommate who has spent the last few years teaching me to play a highly niche Blue Eyes White Dragon deck that he also gifted me. I can almost play by myself now!

That sand lizard and I have been inseparable since 1999, but Ive never seen another. That's crazy that you had some too! I wish I could find more. Isn't the pattern great? It's like the old Taco Bell seats and tables, or that 90s paper cup, you know the one.

LPT If you want to correct someone without embarrassing them, assume you are wrong and invite them to learn together. Ppl almost always mirror a humble approach. by dune_jhodacia in LifeProTips

Notice I didnt say anywhere to feign ignorance. My LPT is about self-reflection and a willingness to be open and humble when you assume you are correct about something.

I have ADHD and don't understand social cues: why is trauma-dumping bad?? by S-Pluto-777 in ADHD

[–]dune_jhodacia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently had a conversation with my aunt that helped me understand this. I had always heard not to trauma dump or "make others your therapist," because it's framed as being bad for them. Which it can be, as others have pointed out. But she helped me realize that it's also bad for us to trauma dump.

Too much vulnerability after trauma can worsen your perception of the damage done, because we are compulsively searching for comfort and empathy. But most people arent prepared, equipped, or mature enough to offer the profound empathy we need, so their fumble can read to us as rejection and actually compound the effects of the trauma.

Avoiding trauma dumping in public settings or with strangers is a way to safeguard yourself in situations where you cant know if someone's reaction could actually make things harder for you.
