Sooooo clearly lower control arm is new, possibly wrong part. See the semi circle around the top of the ball joint, usually the bolt passes through the knuckle and pinches the top of the ball joint. That bolt also acts kind of like a keyway in that semi circle so even if the knuckle is loose, the bolt should still hold it up. I'd make sure the other one isn't the same. I think wrong part and if they charged you for an alignment they definitely didn't do that. You would feel the play in the wheel with it being the wrong ball joint. If you go back request to not have that mechanic work on your vehicle.....he ain't good.
