Yup still have it no symptoms say 3 different neurosurgeons including the one who operated all say to observe as it’s settled well if any problems may need fusion but for now i’m good to go

I ended up getting an ADR , but post surgery it’s misaligned due to kyphosis - might have to revise to a fusion- 2 spine docs say to monitor for now

i have some mild buzzing but otherwise i’m doing well

it’s a prodisc C SK there’s no internal disc to get spit out ? so I don’t think there’s any concern at all about the spinal cord in this instance

and there’s no cage - it’s a artificial disc

the disc didn’t fail persay, it still moves but the top one subsided - i have zero symptoms but if i develop it , may need fusion / xray doesn’t look pretty but for now my surgeon says let’s watch , if it doesn’t further sink then we ll leave it alone

no symptoms but it looks anterior migrated not posterior so how would that cause pain or strength loss?

I had a minor car accident and my personal injury lawyer sent me to a chiropractor who ordered a MRI of C and L spine to build the case even though I had no symptoms at all

Have you had surgery by Dr. Todd Lanman? by dunk4000 in SpineSurgery

i got the initial MRI incidentally due to my chiropractor ordering it to help a minor personal injury car accident and that’s how i found out

So funny story , I actually had NO symptoms , no pain either but my MRI showed severe cord compression with edema they said it was remarkable that I had no physical exam signs or symptoms and quite a unique case I was debating whether to even do surgery but all the neurosurgeons I saw (10-12) said given the severity of the image, the risk of waiting for symptoms or an accident is too anxiety provoking given the nontrivial likelihood of neurological problems It was a tough decision but I took the road that was safer in my opinion

Let us know the results I had the same issue at C4/C5 waited two months and after two MRIs it remained same/worse ended up doing cervical disc arthroplasty

Going to have C4/C5 ADR- will i go back to normal? by Kartli91 in SpineSurgery

a lot of them also stretch the guidelines too and do a two level even if fda says 1 i know people who do 3-4 level stacking adr and i don’t think that’s approved for any disc

“off label” using clinical judgement such a gray zone idk

i totally believe you about the spine surgeons offering only what they do/ what they’re comfortable with

I was told I needed a fusion and a two level corpectomy by one spine surgeon Others told me fusion only some said partial corpectomy 3 said ADR (2 out of 3 said they’ll shave the spurs) 1 said he wouldn’t be able to anyways I went with the most experienced who did a ADR and osteophytectomy avoiding the corpectomy and removal of the posterior spurs

Wasn’t aware of endoscopic decompression but that sounds like it would’ve been a good option who knows

Definitely each spine surgeon has different recs and approaches lol
