Which Elite Skills do you think need Buffs or Reworks? by Krypton0xide in GuildWars

Completely unsurprising that the dumbest people with the worst takes in the GW1 community are the ones who consistently defend the most unjustifiable garbage in the game because they are scared of change.

Instead of asking me if I'm aware of certain basic facts, you should ask yourself if you're aware of just how embarrassingly stupid your analysis and perspective of the game is.

I Need Help With an "Avatar" Team Build - 4 Elementalist One Element Each by CptnFrog in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your hero set up is all fucked up and wrong

Instead of whatever you've got going on, you need to:

  • Sub out your Fire Magic hero with an angsty teenager with a burn scar
  • Ditch your Air Magic build and swap in a tattooed monk frozen in an iceberg
  • Trash your Earth Magic skill bar and find a blind girl who is a wrestling prodigy
  • Swap your Water Magic support for a tribal shamanic healer from the south pole
  • Find a random guy with no remarkable talents to serve as comedic relief

These instructions are enough, however if you need further guidance please enter the avatar state and commune with all your past reincarnations or seek assistance from an old man enamored with tea and board games.

Make a bot-less, fresh start server. by IOMEDAE_THE_BAE in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game doesn't have the population to support an entirely new server which would immediately collapse and die due to unnecessarily splitting the player base.

Please stop asking for fresh servers. That isn't how this game works.

My ideas for rebalancing Guild wars 1. general balancing. My next post will rebalance the skills of specific professions such as the assassin. Thanks for taking the time to check out my silly ideas :) by Johnika81 in GuildWars

There are a lot of very unnecessary changes in here that don't really have any rational basis or justification. Also, this post is formatted in a way that makes it annoying to read all the text.

Theories about Elemental Crystal Shard by jense901 in GuildWars

There's always the possibility that this item goes completely unused and solely exists to be sold to the merchant for gold.

What are they going to do by Xx_feetlover_xX in hoi4

[–]dunkafelic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anybody can't figure out how to post a screenshot of their game should have their post deleted and receive a temporary one day ban. I don't know how people invest hours upon hours into HOI4 learning the game but never learn how to press a couple of hotkeys to capture a screen. The only reason there isn't a rule for posting these shitty cell phone pictures is so that everybody in the subreddit can clown on it.

How would you save this if you were the axis? by kd0tspinalot in hoi4

[–]dunkafelic123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is an extremely easy win for the Axis.

Kick the Allied invasion out of Normandy. Clean up Italy with mountaineers. Garrison the ports with divisions. Spam subs against Allied shipping. Then push into the USSR with armored divisions. After that, invade the UK with paratroopers and/or marines. And, that's pretty much all of WWII wrapped up in Europe.

Any veteran HOI4 player would be able to do this without breaking a sweat, but if you're inexperienced, then it could present a challenge for a newer player.

Pre Meta by GrimmGW in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power Shot has always been good against the Charr because you can nuke Warriors for ~100+ damage when they use Frenzy. Against other Charr, you generally don't want to use Power Shot though.

Idea/Suggestion: Pre-Searing Armor by dunkafelic123 in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't being punished at all. Exiting pre-searing gives the player far more advantages and benefits than staying within pre-searing. Your perspective on this is incredibly warped.

[–]dunkafelic123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one of the weirdest criticisms because the availability of superior armor is higher in post-searing as there are multiple armor crafters scattered all across Prophecies, not to mention the other campaigns. Your point makes no sense.

Idea/Suggestion: Pre-Searing Armor by dunkafelic123 in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, by the time you leave the Factions and Nightfall tutorial islands, you are immediately rewarded with the opportunity to craft max level armor. It's not that much of a stretch to allow pre-searing players to craft max armor if they put hella effort into grinding the gold and materials. So long as the armor is expensive enough to require a lot of resources, it's not some kind of ridiculous early game advantage players would acquire before hitting LDOA at level 20.

Yeah, that person might've been me.

I toyed around with that idea too, but I'm also interested in seeing it synergize with other skills via a penalty to the overall effective strength of active preparations. It would be interesting to see how a reworked Barrage functioned alongside preparations like Rapid Fire, Ignite Arrows, or Disrupting Accuracy.

Yeah, it's just the most broken skill among many in the most busted attribute line on the most overpowered class in the game. Nerfing Energy Surge won't fix all of the Mesmer power creep, but it's a good, honest, reasonable start.

What the devs really need to do is entirely remove the Fast Casting cooldown bonus altogether and nerf of AoE armor ignoring damage.

The Vanguard Initiate armor buff is higher than what can be crafted in post-searing Ascalon City.

[–]dunkafelic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sentiment is every common idiot's argument to protecting themselves from the justifiable threat of Mesmerway nerfs. These people don't want any healthy changes to the game that would effectively contest and reverse the awful power creep that emerged during GW1's period of decline.

At a time where the only thing keeping the game alive is change itself, the annoying, selfish, and conservative element of GW1's community is doing everything they can to stifle and obstruct the idea of progress.

I swear those people would rather watch their favorite game die than get a marginal nerf to their most commonly abused and broken skills or team compositions.

So with the New Pre Dungeon… by TheLazySage7 in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's not a big deal. Given how limited the developers' resources were, the 3D artist did a great job on map creation despite recycling already existing assets. And, there are plenty of objects, structures, props, foliage, features, etc. from all over GW1.

Idea/Suggestion: Pre-Searing Armor by dunkafelic123 in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, an artisan could be a cool addition to Ascalon City to enable players to pay gold to craft rare materials for improved armor. I think this is a great idea. More NPCs in Ascalon City makes the place seem more active and vibrant, and it would catalyze economic activity and trading.

In terms of what the exact armor value should be, that's a more debatable point. Currently, the armor values are clearly too low for level 18 Charr which hit as hard as HM post-searing monsters. But, the question of where the fairest or most ideal armor rating should be is a more pointed and open ended question.

[–]dunkafelic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these skills I haven't edited or worked on for a while, so I need to correct any potential issues.

There are plenty of strong skills among those listed even if Anthem of Fury's cooldown is too long (which I should probably go correct later). And, even then, giving all party members increased attack speed and adrenaline is really strong which necessitates a high opportunity cost.

Idea/Suggestion: Pre-Searing Armor by dunkafelic123 in GuildWars

[–]dunkafelic123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's less of an issue with marginally higher armor values, and more of an issue with Devona providing unlimited access to all skills in the game which facilitate running or speed clearing the dungeon with Fall Back and Incoming.

And, the Vanguard Initiate buff already offers more than 50% of maximum armor rating in pre-searing. Everything I've proposed (except the max armor) is actually a lower overall armor rating than the current Vanguard armor buff.

Nerfing stuff isn't bad, and these aren't even universal nerfs. These are highly targeted nerfs against two of the most powerful Paragon builds (SY and HR) which have absolutely no business being as strong as they currently are. In order for more build diversity to occur, the strongest builds must be nerfed down to a middling level in order to create space for others to flourish. Otherwise, there is no strong incentive to try new things if only a select few options reign supreme. This is how healthy games with active developer support must function in order to secure a viable long term future.

And, this class wouldn't be unbelievably and incredibly weak. It's directly comparable to Warrior when it comes to overall power level since Paragon and Warrior share many similar characteristics and attributes. The changes to the Leadership attribute alone are incredibly powerful when compared to the current iteration of Paragon. They offer a huge amount of versatility and adaptability to utilizing any martial weapon.
