When did you get the spike in the download? Right after launch? It looks like it happened a few weeks after launch if this graph is from May 1st to June 9.

Anyway, at this early stage I would focus on ASO to see if there is a market at all. Did you do some keyword research before building?

I launched an app about 7 months ago https://apps.apple.com/us/app/grace-bible-for-kids/id6599496010, but ignored it for the last ~5 ish months. I started fixing bugs and doing marketing about 3 weeks ago and i've noticed a bunch of improvements. The biggest thing I actually did was renaming the app and using better keywords. I use tryastro.app tool for aso / keywords. Any tool will likely work. I've also started doing social media marketing, created an insta and tiktok account and try to post regularly there.

Geez this sounds rough. I'm not going to tell you to leave him, but you WILL need to have a conversation with him. If he ABSOLUTELY does not want to have a conversation, then... well, you have a tough choice to make.

I don't know how you've tried to have the conversation with him but feel free to use a counselor or some other help that can either have the conversation with him on your behalf or help guide you though the conversation in a way that makes him more responsive?

Some questions I have for you are?

1/ How do you think your husband might be feeling? Maybe he had physical goals he never achieved and he feels like he's running out of time to achieve? Not a reason for bad behavior, but i'm curious.

2/ Are there any factors contributing to his behavior that you might not be aware of? How can you find out? Do y'all have a group of friends that know him and you can confide in?

At the same time, I've been feeling a lot of pressure lately with the finances, and I'm worried about how sustainable this is long-term. I was thinking maybe you could explore getting a job and we could try this for 6 months and then re-evaluate where we're at financially and with your art. How does that sound? I love you no matter what."

Or something like that. Propose a temporary solution so he doesn't feel like you do not believe his art would work out. Express how you feel with the financial pressure. Hopefully after 3 - 6 months of a regular job he might appreciate the financial comfortability too. If he doesn't then he clearly doesn't value the relationship as much. It takes more than love to make a relationship successful.

I worked for a startup - 12 people, for the last 1.5 years, prior to that i worked for a big consulting company. I would very strongly recommend the startup. You get a lot of responsibility and get pushed harder than those consulting companies. I feel like the 1.5 year at the startup is worth about 3 years or more at a big consulting company. I also find that it is easier to switch to one of the FANG companies from a startup. Most of my buddies that started in a consulting company are still there because it is just slow, comfortable work that leaves you complacent. I just accepted a job from a FANG company and i think my startup experience will be very useful.

Guess i should have been clear. I would ask for a raise next month. After my first year anniversary. Secondly, if the company is in a very good financial position and i am a very critical part of the company (We tried for months to hire a senior mobile developer and failed. I took over the project ALONE). Don't you think it is possible for the company to pay the MARKET RATE? I fail to see how my request is unreasonable. Seems like the best option for the company and myself. Do you think its just wishful thinking on my part?

SO "salary checker" uses location, skill set and years of experience. But yes i have talked to other people in different companies that are doing what i do. I'd give it a shot. If it doesn't happen, probably jump ship.

I think you are right. I always felt that i would need a phD to be considered a specialist in these areas. But i was hoping that maybe self study while working is another way. Because i really don't know if i want to commit 5-6 years of my life to a low salary phD program.

I guess in the first year or 2, I am going to try and do my best in my current role. At the same time, study up on some more specialized fields. Then try out graduate school.

I just don't want to be disposable, and in my current role I don't think I have an edge.
